A common question arises: Is Costco closed on Thanksgiving? Well, the answer is yes. Costco will be closing its doors on November 28. But here is the good news. According to its website, the store will be allowing online sales on Thanksgiving, providing an exclusive discount of $50 on spending $400 on select items.
According to its Holiday Closure Policy, Costco traditionally closes on every Thanksgiving holiday, allowing its employees to spend time with their families. It remains closed on seven days throughout the year, including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. It operates for regular hours when it is open for customers.
However, the warehouse chain will be open on Black Friday i.e. on November 29 from 9:00 am to 8:30 pm allowing customers to take advantage of the holiday sales.
Which stores are open on Thanksgiving?
Few stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day so that customers can buy the essentials needed at the last minute for their family dinner. Here is the list:
CVS: Operating at normal hours. Customers are requested to check with their local stores for altered holiday hours.
- Central Market: 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
- Fiesta Market: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
- Albertsons: 6:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Kroger: 6:00 am to 5:00 pm, pharmacies will be closed.
- Sprouts Farmers Market: 7:00 am to 2:00 pm
- Joe V’s Smart Shop: 7:00 am to 2:00 pm
- H-E-B: 6:00 am to noon, pharmacies will remain closed.

What are Black Friday deals offered by Costco?
Unlike Thanksgiving, Costco will be opening its door to shoppers on Black Friday. The store is offering attractive deals across different categories including electronics, home essentials, games, jewelery and apparel. The store has already rolled out early discounts in online and offline stores to avoid the huge rush on the main event.
In order to take advantage of these offers one must hold a Costco membership which costs $65 per year. By being a member, one can avail not only of the Black Friday deals but also save extra by being aware of the ongoing sales for the rest of the year.
