The In-N-Out Burger fan account recently shared a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), saying that “everybody” is asking them to switch back to using beef tallow for their fries. This refers to the ongoing debate among fans who miss the original flavor of the fries made with beef tallow.

In-N-Out Burger is suspected to have fried their fries in beef fat, which gave them a unique, crispy taste. Some fans didn’t like the change when the recipe was altered, while others were fine with the new version. The debate continues to this day.

The tweet was uploaded from a username called @innoutburger_ on December 16 to playfully acknowledge the demand from fans. The tweet got an added push of visibility when Elon Musk, the owner of X, also responded to the tweet.

The tweet got further attention when Elon Musk also replied to the tweet, saying,

"Even though you are fake In-N-Out, I hope the real one listens"

He jokingly addresses the account, saying it isn’t the real In-N-Out but hopes the actual company pays attention to the fans wanting the old fries back.

Other In-N-Out Burger fans also gave fun reactions to the tweet. One user wrote,

That would taste amazing with fries well done."

Another user wrote,

"Yes. Please do immediately. Your customers will live longer and buy more of everything you sell."

Many users have strongly urged the brand to seriously consider using beef tallow in their fries, believing it would be a great move for the business. One user wrote,

"It would seriously up your fry game. At a minimum have an option so people can pick which... but vegetarians aren't your core customer base, so I don't see why you can't just switch. They are seriously better - and quite literally can leverage the tallow from making the burgers"

Another user added,

"This would be wise for your business. Get out ahead of something... And really lay on the fact that you want to do it because it's better for people's health."

In-N-Out Burger hasn’t officially responded to the viral tweet

The viral tweet was uploaded from the In-N-Out Burger fan account on December 16, not by the official brand. The brand still hasn’t responded to any claims or participated in the debate.

While many people mistook it for the real account, Elon Musk cleared this up in his tweet by stating that the account is not real.

The fan account also responded to Elon Musk’s tweet by writing,

"Currently just a level 5 employee for In-N-Out at an undisclosed location. And I agree. I hope corporate listens. It’s for the better good of the people."

The tweet further added,

"Wait did Elon Musk really reply to me? 🫨"

It is clear that the tweet was uploaded from a fake In-N-Out Burger account claiming to be a level 5 brand employee. The official statement from the brand is not yet announced. Currently, they are using sunflower oil to make their crispy fries.
