Ferrari and Hot Wheels are reuniting after more than 10 years to release new collectibles. The announcement came through the official Instagram page of Hot Wheels, where the popular toy car brand shared a simple yet impactful story - it featured the logos of both brands with a simple messaging in between.
"Two iconic brands. Reunited."
While the story was shared on January 27, the announcement has excited fans, since this is the first collaboration between the two brands since 2014, when their previous contract ended. Till 2014, Mattel was the only company producing Ferrari miniature replicas, with the last one being the LaFerrari released in 2014.
However, after that, Maisto and Bburago struck an exclusive licensing deal with the Italian automaker, barring Mattel from recreating the Italian beauties. But it is also worth noting that while Maisto and Bburago create incredible diecasts of their own accord, they are much smaller brands on a global scale as compared to Hot Wheels.

What to expect from the new Hot Wheels x Ferrari collaboration
The Hot Wheels and Ferrari collaboration has gotten fans excited about what they can expect to see. So far, both brands have done a great job at keeping their releases under wraps, not sharing anything about which models will be released.
However, it can be expected that while Hot Wheels will be releasing a line of newer models, there will also be recreations of the older models alongside the new releases. This means that fans can expect to get their hands on a full range of Ferrari diecasts post-launch.
What makes this even more interesting is that Hot Wheels has significantly improved its treatment of miniature cars over the years, creating miniature versions that seem to perfectly replicate the original cars.
Hot Wheels' executive vice president, Roberto Stanichi said in a statement,
“It was a passion project for the Hot Wheels team to deliver authentic visions of these iconic Ferrari models.”
So while this is expected of the newer launches, fans are looking forward to seeing the treatment Hot Wheels gives to the older collectibles that may be rereleased this time round.
No further details about the collaboration, including the date of release and the models to expect in the collection have been revealed so far, but fans can expect to hear more about it soon.
