More details on the unreleased Off-White x Air Jordan 4 “Bred” sneakers
The sneakers Fat showed off on his Instagram have never been released formally. Sneakerheads first caught a glimpse of the Air Jordan iteration during Virgil Abloh’s “Figures of Speech” exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago in the summer of 2019.
The silhouette shares design elements with the women’s Off-White x Air Jordan 4 Sail released in July 2020, Both sneakers are marked with Abloh’s signature deconstructed artistry.
The Air Jordan Bred sneakers are draped in black and red with a black nubuck upper without the usual padding on the tongue and heel. On the sneakers’ lateral side, Abloh’s signature AIR logo is prominent while Off-White’s branding dominates the medial netting in white color.
The mudguards of the shoes are designed in translucent NextSkin fabric. The heels and TPU support wings also receive the same translucent treatment. The design is rounded up with an opaque gray rubber outsole.
This iteration of the Air Jordan Bred is one of Virgil Abloh’s most sought-after unreleased sneakers. It is unknown how many pairs of shoes were created. Shannon Abloh, widow of the late designer, wore the sneakers for a November 2022, New York Times issue.
According to Footwear News on December 14, 2024, a Jordan brand representative revealed that the design was only created as a sample and may not be released to the public.
