Chocolate Skateboards has joined forces with eBay and Nike SB to celebrate its 30th anniversary. This partnership is bringing a limited edition of Nike SB Dunk Low sneakers in the "Sun" colorway. Only 30 pairs of these exclusive sneakers will be made available through an auction on eBay.
The auction will be running from December 7 to December 14, 2024.
The decision to launch only 30 pairs of these sneakers is a nod to Chocolate Skateboards' celebration of its 30th anniversary. The brand has been cherished in the skateboarding industry for the past three decades.
eBay x Chocolate Skateboards x Nike SB: The collaboration explored
Chocolate Skateboards was established in 1994. The parent distribution company of the skateboarding brand is Crailtap. Its innovative designs and collaborations are often acclaimed by sports enthusiasts globally.
On the other hand, Nike SB is a subdivision of Nike, which is dedicated to skateboarding. eBay is a go-to online platform for both collectors and fans. This marks the three heads of this collaboration.
The Nike SB Dunk Low "Sun" sports a colorway that pays tribute to Chocolate Skateboards' Sun series. The upper is crafted from premium yellow suede. Brown overlays are featured on the mid-panel and heel. A clean white leather Nike Swoosh is sported across the sides of these sneakers.
The red heel tab features an embroidered Chocolate logo, for brand identity. A white midsole and a gum rubber outsole are also sported in the shoes. These features are believed to be useful for skateboarding. Inside, the shoe sports a white lining and tongue.
Each pair of these collaborative sneakers is individually numbered. It reinforces its exclusivity. The packaging contains a collectible oversized skate deck box that encases the sneakers. A reissued Chocolate Mulder Sun Series skate deck is also included.
The auction on eBay will also be a matter of excitement for those interested in skate decks. Alongside the sneakers, the event will offer 30 exclusive skate decks from Chocolate's archives and limited edition Stüssy x Chocolate T-shirts. Ten skate decks from each of Chocolate's three decades will be on offer.
It is reported that proceeds from the auction will go to Deckaid. It is a nonprofit organization that uses skateboard art to support youth programs. Starting bids for all items including the shoes and skate decks, are set at $19.94. This special bid price clearly refers to Chocolate Skateboards’ founding year, 1994.
