Paris Fashion Week ended a couple of days ago, and Japanese fashion label COMME des GARÇONS unveiled several of its upcoming collaborations with many big brands, including the likes of Nike, Asics, and New Balance. These collaborations include some apparel creations as well, but they mostly feature within a range of sneaker collaborations.
Paris Fashion Week is usually very well known for the various apparel collaborations and designs that many prominent designers and labels display during the presentation. However, this year was very special for sneakerheads as well, and COMME des GARCONS had a big role to play in this.
With Nike, the popular shoe giant has collaborated with COMME des GARCONS' sub-brand, known as COMME des GARCONS HOMME PLUS to reveal a reworked version of the Air Rejuven8 in two new colorways. Nike also collaborated with BLACK COMME des GARÇONS to recreate a version of the Field General 82 that also features the label's distorted cobranding.
With New Balance, the Japanese label has collaborated to bring back the brand's classic dad sneakers, the 509s, in two colorways - white and gray. The sub-brand Junya Watanabe MAN has taken over the New Balance 471s to create two new reworked versions of the slim silhouette - in gray and black.
COMME des GARCONS collaborates with Asics to rework two of its most popular footwear pieces at Paris Fashion Week
COMME des GARCONS went all out this Paris Fashion Week to collaborate with many different big names in the sneaker industry. While some of these collaborations have been explored earlier in this article, with popular brands like Nike and New Balance, the Japanese label also collaborated with Asics to create some reworked editions of popular pieces by the latter brand.
This collaboration includes a reworked version of a very popular Asics piece - the ASICS GEL KAYANO 14, and this time, the shoe sports a much thicker overlay on its all-white exterior. It also sports a mixed-material build, which adds to the look of the shoe overall.
Overall, COMME des GARCONS had a great week at Paris Fashion Week, unveiling many new collaborations with many popular brands, especially in the footwear division. With this, fans are more than excited to see when these collaborations hit stores and they can get their hands on them as well.
