General Mills has announced the launch of Cheerios Protein, marking a new addition to its vast range of products. The step follows the growing consumer demand for protein-rich foods among the customers. A report in Stock Titan stated that 71% of consumers are actively trying to increase protein intake.
Cheerios Protein is launched in two distinct flavours including Cinnamon and Strawberry. It offers 8 grams of protein in every serving. The product is available across the nation for $5.39 for large boxes and $5.69 for family boxes.
According to Emilie Knox, Vice president and business unit director, of Morning Foods at General Mills, said:
“As protein continues to be an important priority for people of all ages, we specifically created Cheerios Protein with families in mind".
She added,
"We wanted it to taste great and to preserve the iconic Cheerios shape, but with a good source of protein, all in a convenient cereal we know everyone at the breakfast table will love – turning all mornings into good mornings.”
What are other products offered by General Mills that will be seen in 2025?
General Mills is bringing nine new cereals and granolas to the market next year besides Cheerios Protein.
1) Bluey cereal
“The fun, lightly sweetened corn cereal is sure to put every family into Dance Mode after breakfast.” The brand stated, is based on the popular kids show and features blue swirls. It contains corn, corn meal, sugar, brown sugar syrup and spirulina extract.
2) Strawberry Vanilla Chex
This new cereal combines two distinct flavors including vanilla and strawberry, making it an appealing breakfast option. The crunchy texture makes it suitable for eating as a snack or with milk. It is a gluten-free product.
3) Nature Valley Dipped Granolas
These indulgent chocolate bars combine crunchy granola with delicious coatings. They are made from whole-grain oats dipped in rich chocolate coating. Each bar contains 110 calories, 5g of total fat and 1g of protein. These bars will be introduced in two flavors - Nature Valley Granola in Dipped Chocolate and Nature Valley Granola in Dipped Salted Caramel.
Cascadian Farm Fruit and Nut Granola, Cascadian Farm Oats and Honey Granola and Cheerios Oat Crunch Chocolate are some of the other products that customers can look forward to.
