Balenciaga is making waves with its latest footwear concept, the “Zero” shoe. This concept features a barefoot aesthetic and an unconventional design and look. These shoes are reportedly a part of the brand's Fall 2025 collection.
Beini Qian, Head of Sneakers Design at Balenciaga, took to Instagram to announce and reveal the pictures of these brand new Barefoot “zero” shoes by the brand. The post has received a range of responses from fans.
Balenciaga Barefoot “zero” shoe explored
Balenciaga was founded in 1919 by Cristóbal Balenciaga in Spain. This Spanish luxury fashion brand has its headquarters in Paris. It deals in ready-to-wear footwear, handbags, accessories, and other fashion items.
The company has previously created buzz with the oversized streetwear and footwear with futuristic designs. The Barefoot "zero" is the latest addition to its experimental concepts.
The Balenciaga "Zero" shoe is crafted entirely from lightweight foam. As seen in the pictures, the design is a fusion of slides, sandals, and barefoot footwear. A standout feature of the shoes is a narrow footbed. Grooves for all five toes are featured, which is typically the design of barefoot footwears.
The outsole features an imprinted footprint pattern. The Balenciaga logo is embossed for branding. It will reportedly be available in neutral tones like black, white, tan, and dark brown.
The "Zero" merely covers the wearer's foot with a heel strap and an enclosure at the big toe, in contrast to traditional designs. The remainder of the foot is left uncovered. This has left the fans voicing conflicting opinions.
