The host of the popular podcast Call Her Daddy, Alex Cooper, is making her foray into the world of beverages with the launch of her new drink "designed specifically for women." As reported by USA Today, the drink has been described as an "all-new functional beverage" and "your new best friend… with benefits."
This drink, unveiled on Wednesday, comes packed with electrolytes and will hit the shelves at Target on January 1, 2025. Alex Cooper is best known for bringing in several A-listers on her podcast, including Miley Cyrus, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Jane Fonda.
All we know about Alex Cooper's Unwell Hydration
Per USA Today, Nestle is also lending a hand in the production of Unwell Hydration. It costs $2.49 per bottle and $15 for a pack of eight. More retailers are expected to begin selling bottles as the year goes on.
It comes in three flavors: Strawberry, Mango Citrus, and Orange Hibiscus, each of which features 700 mg of electrolytes, aiding in hydration. The vitamin B and green coffee extract help give a light boost of energy.
Alex Cooper also revealed that the beverage's targeted audience is women, and it has less sugar and will be "gently caffeinated."
"This unapologetically authentic new beverage line was designed by women for women, because wellness isn't about striving for perfection 24/7," Unwell Hydration said on Thursday. "It's about making the most of every moment and embracing the chaos along the way."
On Wednesday, Cooper said at the DealBook Summit,
"What could be my first consumer product? Probably something that would make the most sense would be that it could integrate into your unwell lifestyle."
Alex Cooper also took to Instagram to reflect on her upcoming release:
"UNWELL HYDRATION, FOR EVERY VERSION OF YOU. For my hungover b****** on their walk of shames, the hot c**** who actually go to pilates every morning, the girlies grinding it out at their desks, and the superhuman moms working their a**** off… THIS IS FOR YOU❤️ A little something to help get you through all of life’s unwell moments :) It’s a drink by women… FOR EVERYONE. And it tastes fucking INCREDIBLE. Electrolytes, B-vitamins, barely any sugar (for once). It’s packed with all the good s***, and none of the b*******. I love you Daddy Gang, get Unwell soon :)"
Per WWD, in another Zoom call earlier this week, clad in Unwell sweats, she revealed that during college, her "entire life was based around hydration." However, while that may not be the case anymore, hydration is still her main goal.
“As you get older, you obviously start to recognize you want to take care of yourself,” she said. “When you think about being unwell, it is somehow related to a lack of hydration."
She also revealed that she began suffering migraines in her 20s and has since found that this product helps her with the energy she needs without triggering an episode.
“If I’m dealing with a migraine in the morning, I don’t want to have a coffee because I don’t want so much caffeine, but I want enough. We have a tiny bit of caffeine, where it’s almost equivalent to a tea rather than a coffee, which was huge for me. Some days I don’t want to feel jittery and have so much coffee in my body, but you need that extra focus [and] pick me up. That’s where the perfect concoction of Unwell Hydration came together.”
Alex Cooper also admitted that she initially thought about delving into cosmetics, clothing, or fragrance. However, it was only when she realized that the beverage market only caters to men that she found her calling.
