Jordan Brand is reportedly set to launch the Air Jordan 5 OG “35th Anniversary” sneakers to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Air Jordan 5.
According to Sneaker Bar Detroit, the sneakers are slated to be released on October 11, 2025, with a retail price point of around $210. Fans can expect to see the pair on the official Nike website, SNKRS app, and select Jordan Brand retailers, on release.
Disclaimer: Details of the Air Jordan 5 OG “35th Anniversary” sneakers are only speculated, and are not yet confirmed by the brand. They are subject to change.
Originally released in 1990, the Air Jordan 5 was designed by Tinker Hatfield and drew inspiration from World War II fighter jets. The silhouette was quick to garner attention from sneaker enthusiasts across the world. It came with a reflective tongue, mesh side panels, and a shark-tooth midsole design.
A new Air Jordan 5 OG “35th Anniversary” edition is allegedly on its way in a Medium Soft Pink colorway.
How could the Air Jordan 5 OG “35th Anniversary” sneakers look?
This anniversary edition is built on the foundation of the beloved Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” while swapping its traditional red highlights for a Medium Soft Pink, Sneaker Bar Detroit claims. Its colorway is labeled White/ Medium Soft Pink - Black.
Some of its other speculated features include:
- White premium leather upper.
- Medium Soft Pink accents appear on the shark-tooth midsole, sock liner, Jumpman logo, and embroidered 23 on the lateral side of the upcoming Air Jordan 5 OG “35th Anniversary” sneakers.
- Nike Air branding on the heel, which is a key OG detail.
- Reflective silver tongue. This feature is one of the most recognizable elements of the Air Jordan 5 OG silhouette.
- Black midsole. It provides contrast to the overall look of the shoes and balances the lighter tones.
- Icy translucent outsole is another signature feature of the line.
The Nike Air logo on the heel is usually reserved for OG retros or high-profile collaborations. The possibility of seeing it on an in-line general release makes this pair somewhat special, which could result in an increased demand for the Air Jordan 5 OG “35th Anniversary” edition.
Moreover, the Medium Soft Pink replaces the traditional Fire Red. It is the first time the color has been used on the Jordan 5. Also, unlike some past special-edition releases, this one is suspected to be available for all ages.
Potential cons
Like multiple Air Jordan 5 releases, the translucent outsole looks great fresh out of the box but may develop yellowing with wear and age. Additionally, at $210, the price is relatively on the higher end for a general Jordan 5 release, which could be a drawback for some buyers.
