As Jordan Brand reportedly gears up for the release of the Air Jordan 40 later this year, fans are getting one more addition to the current lineup: the Air Jordan 39 “Heritage” sneakers. This red-dominant sneaker pays tribute to Michael Jordan’s time with the Chicago Bulls.

How might the Air Jordan 39 “Heritage” sneakers look?

Reportedly set to drop on February 11, 2025, the latest colorway of the Air Jordan 39 silhouette is expected to drop just ahead of Valentine’s Day and NBA All-Star Weekend. This “Heritage” edition dresses in a monochromatic Gym Red colorway with subtle white detailing and features a full-length Zoom Air unit and ZoomX foam.

The upcoming shoes' colorway is labeled Gym Red/ White, reports say. The “Heritage” sneakers' entire upper is covered in Gym Red, a nod to the Chicago Bulls’ famous colors. This color scheme aligns with previous all-red Jordan releases such as Air Jordan 5 “Toro Bravo,” Air Jordan 14 “Ferrari,” and Air Jordan 21 “Red Suede,” among others.

The sneaker’s upper is crafted from engineered mesh with textured overlays. One of the standout design details is the cracked pattern on the side panels, which is believed to be a tribute to MJ’s cross-step move. This spec adds a layer of storytelling to the shoe.

Additionally, white accents have been featured on the Jumpman logo, which is on the tongue, Air Jordan-branded heel tab, and midsole cutouts. These details create a contrast against the red dominance of the Air Jordan 39 “Heritage” sneakers.

A reported hidden portrait of Michael Jordan inside the tongue liner gives the sneaker a personal touch.

Based on speculations, some of the shoe's performance features include a full-length Zoom Air unit, ZoomX foam midsole, engineered mesh upper for breathability, herringbone-patterned outsole, and ergonomic tongue design.

However, some wearers might find the high-top construction a bit restrictive compared to low-cut basketball shoes.

Release Date and Pricing
