The Air Jordan 1 Mid “New Love” sneakers are reportedly making a comeback.

According to Sneaker Bar Detroit, the shoes are scheduled to be released in June 2025, just in time to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1. The pair will have a retail price point of around $135. On release, fans can expect to purchase the shoes via the official Nike website, SNKRS app, and select Jordan Brand retailers.

This release marks the first return of the colorway since 2017. Speculation has it that this version stays true to its original 2007 debut design. Originally, it was released as part of the "Old Love, New Love" Pack. The "New Love" sneaker nods to Michael Jordan’s passion for basketball and motorsports. Back in the early 2000s, Jordan’s interest in motorcycle racing was growing, and Jordan Brand reflected this by introducing a colorway.

This 2025 version reportedly retains some key elements from the 2007 OG release, including the bubble Wings logo, yellow leather overlays, and a clean heel without the Jumpman logo. Its colorway is labeled Black/ Varsity Maize - White.

This 2025 edition of the Air Jordan 1 Mid “New Love” sneakers keeps the black and yellow color blocking, Sneaker Bar Detroit reports. Moreover, it allegedly brings back some of the original features that fans missed in the 2017 edition.

Upper

The sneaker features a Varsity Maize leather upper, covering the toe box, heel, eye stays, and Swoosh.
Black nubuck, a suede-like material, has been reportedly used on the mudguard, midfoot panels, and ankle collar.

"Bubble" Wings logo

The 2025 version reintroduces the translucent bubble Wings logo, just like the 2007 original.
This change is believed to bring back a retro feel, which some fans might have missed on the stamped logo seen on the 2017 version.

No Jumpman on the heel of Jordan 1 Mid “New Love” sneakers

One noticeable detail is the removal of the Jumpman logo on the heel, another nod to the 2007 OG release.

White midsole and yellow outsole

The white EVA midsole provides a contrast to the overall design of the shoes.
The semi-translucent yellow outsole is retained by the brand, reports claim.

Traditional Air Jordan branding

A black nylon tongue features "Air Jordan" branding on the woven tag.
The black laces blend with the tongue and suede overlays.

However, unlike full leather, the black nubuck panels can attract dust and stain more easily. Also, some sneakerheads may prefer the AJ1 High for a more classic silhouette.
