New Balance is all set to add a new colorway to the New Balance 740 sneaker series, which was first introduced in 2010. The Blue Agate with White and Sky Blue colorway will be launching on January 31 on the New Balance website for $109.99.
Along with the Blue Agate colorway, the brand has recently released two colorways of the 740 series, which include 'Concord Grape with White and Phantom' and 'Incense with Angora and Timberwolf.' The other colorways of the 740 sneakers include 'Sea Salt with Phantom and Firefly,' 'Sea Salt with Plum Brown and Terrarium,' 'White with Silver Metallic and Reflection,' 'NB Navy with White and Shadow Grey,' and 'Moonbeam with Arid Stone and Black.'
The "Blue Agate with White and Sky Blue" colorway follows a calm sea and sky theme with blue color details. These are unisex shoes and will be coming in men's and women's sizes.

Design details of New Balance 740 “Blue Agate” sneakers
New Balance added the history of the 740 sneaker series on their website by saying,
"The original 740 was the kind of daily runner that would be worn into the ground with heavy miles and bought all over again. This longtime fan favorite returns from the archives, poised to inspire a whole new generation of devotees."
The knit upper is white in color with sky blue underneath. The blue agate and sky blue detailing are present throughout the sneakers. The eyestay has silver and white detailing, and the eyelets have a combination of blue agate, sky blue, and silver. The 'NB' logo is added to the tongue in blue hues.
The midsole of the shoes is white with a blue agate-colored outsole for contrast. The back of the sneakers has detailing in silver in an inverted U shape. The new balance logo is added on the back and on the sides for branding. The shoes have an ABZORB midsole with reflective accents and a rubber outsole for grip and support while running.
The brand further explained the features of the shoes by adding,
"The 740 combines familiar elements of 2000s running-inspiration – an open knit mesh upper, segmented midsole, and a streamlined silhouette – with flourishes like two-tone color mesh and angular overlays, that give the 740 a unique visual identity."
While the New Balance 740 “Blue Agate” sneakers are loved for their style, the possible con in the shoes is the knit upper, which is great for breathability but may not be as durable or protective in rough weather conditions.
New Balance 740 “Blue Agate” sneakers will be launching on New Balance's website on January 31 at 12 am US time for $109.99. Interested customers can subscribe to their website to get notified when the product goes live. The brand is also planning to release 740 for kids in three colorways. It will launch on February 4 and will retail for $84.99.
