DJ Khaled was gifted a pair of the upcoming special edition Air Jordan 1 Bred sneakers in exclusive packaging. The God Did hitmaker received the sneakers courtesy of Micheal Jordan and shared a video on Instagram on January 28, 2025.

In the video, a wooden box arrives at Khaled’s home with a lock on it. He unlocks the box using combination code "1985" and unveils the limited edition sneakers with a note from Jordan that reads:

“The ultimate grail with no competition. It doesn’t get any more legendary, any more classic, any more iconic. The Air Jordan 1 High ‘85 is the one that started it all. It has been obsessed, designed, engineered, scanned, tooled, and shaped to go toe-to-toe with MJ’s original shoe. All the OG specs, no extras. What else do you expect from the greatest sneaker of all time.”

According to Jordan, there are only 23 pairs with special packaging, and Khaled was among the lucky recipients. Khaled’s gift has caused a buzz in the sneaker community, and more than a few sneakerheads were jealous.

@DailyLoud on X shared Khaled’s video, and @Mafotizo tweeted in response:

“I’m jealous right now. MJ I need one also.”

Other sneaker enthusiasts also asked for their special packages in the comments.

“Send me one too!” @heyheyfranciele asked.
“Wow, I’d love to own one of it too,” @princepark5252 expressed.
“Wow, send me one plz lol,” @madgamer1979 replied.

Sneakerheads praised the design and packaging, with some describing the shoes as “the godfather of sneakers.”

“Man these are the godfather of sneakers,” @NGAMULA07 praised.
“This is tough!!! Idc what anyone says,” @Reggie_FBK gushed.
“Love the packaging though! @jnrfreedom1 stated.

Others weren’t impressed by the sneakers and the ceremony and expressed the following:

“Looks like the one sold in the store. The man just likes to give the illusion that something is unique or special. The sneakers were probably made in the same China or Bangladesh Nike factory,” @JardaniJovonovv stated.
“They look like every other pair of red, black and white high tops,” @JerseyDevilRayH commented.
“Same shoe over and over just different colors and some lore….nope,” @420or710upick noted.

The sneakers are dressed in signature black and red with the winged Air Jordan logo adorning the waist.
