McDonald’s Japan continues to promote visuals of its collaboration with Evangelion, the hit Japanese anime series produced by Gainax and directed by Hideaki Anno.
On December 26, 2024, the fast food chain posted a commercial featuring teenage mech pilots and a burger on its X account. The collaboration, which has already kicked off in Japan, allows fans of the beloved anime franchise to enjoy three unique menu items and snag up new toys—miniature EVA units that can turn into food items from the fast food giant.
Starting January 6, 2025, McDonald’s locations across Japan will be serving up exciting new menu options. Diners can look forward to trying the Hash Brown Burger with Garlic Mayo, the New Mexican Chicken Burger, and the Double Teriyaki Burger – all available at a McDonald's near them.

McDonald’s hasn’t confirmed yet if the Neon Genesis Evangelion unique menu items and toys will be available in North America, and other regions for Western fans.
The Evangelion burgers which are inspired by the Absolute Terror AT Fields from the anime franchise will be available for a limited time at the fast food chain's Japanese outlets starting from January 6, 2025.
