Pizza Hut has released an interesting recipe in Japan, and Netizens have reacted with mixed feelings. The Pizza chain upgraded its Ramen Pizza to include soy sauce and a variety of new toppings.
The upgraded menu comes after Pizza Hut partnered with Kit Kat to launch the Handy Melt, aka the Kitto Meccha Melting Handy Melt. It would seem that Pizza Hut is on a mission to introduce eccentric meal combinations this year.
@Dexerto shared the news of the Ramen Pizza on X, and @ThatPersonGut tweeted in response:
“I need to understand why.”
Netizens shared the same sentiment and found Ramen on Pizza confusing.
“Thinking, why?” @333blacksea asked.
“Noodle pizza….. I have questions and concerns,” @waizzyy stated.
“Let’s top pizza with…. more carbs? Why? @valgoroth_ asked.
Notwithstanding the barrage of negative comments, foodies found the Ramen pizza innovative and expressed that they were open to trying the new recipe.
“Japan can do no wrong so I’ll try it,” @Dylanvanderr stated.
“I want to try this haha,” @unkpeg expressed.
“Japan stays ahead of the food game. Meanwhile, America is arguing about pineapple on pizza,” @voiisato commented.
Others lobbied for the ramen pizza to be introduced to other countries apart from Japan.
“Please release it worldwide too,” @StormBreaker082 begged.
“Surprised none of the fast food places have tried bringing a limited time menu from Japan to the US,” @sjfostersound tweeted.
“Please bring to the US,” @Zach_eV responded.
More details on new Ramen Pizza recipe from Pizza Hut
The new Ramen Pizza recipe is inspired by Jiro-style ramen. The ramen from the popular Jiro restaurant chain in Tokyo features extra volumes of garlic, vegetable, tare drizzle, and pork fat.
The Ramen pizza boasts extra toppings and excess soy sauce. The pizza’s base consists of pork back fat, seasoned cha shu pork, cabbage, thick noodles, red ramen flavor, thick noodles, and a sauce made of garlic.
The Ramen noodles are only available in Japan. The pizza chain has not released information on whether they would be available in other countries.
According to Dexerto, the Ramen noodles are sold for 2,750 yen or $17.79 and can be bought alongside Suntory Black Oolong Tea for 2,490 yen or $19.31 at Pizza Hut outlets in Japan.
