Global sportswear brand PUMA is running a step further with a new initiative: Project3. The brand has designed this program to transform marathon runners into elite athletes. If you are gearing up for the 2025 Boston or London Marathons, this is an opportunity you may not want to miss.

PUMA has been a beloved entity in the athletic industry worldwide. It was founded in 1948. The German brand has made its mark across multiple sports, from football and basketball to running.

In this post, we have explored this first-of-its-kind program, its benefits, eligibility criteria, how you can participate, and more. Read on to learn more about Project3.

What Is Project3?

Project3 is a global running program launched by PUMA to elevate marathon runners' performance. It offers them a chance to train and compete like professional athletes.

A total of 100 participants from each of the 2025 Boston and London Marathons will be selected to join this exclusive initiative. Here is how PUMA itself presented this new initiative in an official press release:

"PUMA has launched a first of its kind global running program called 'Project3' that will give participants of the 2025 Boston and London Marathons the opportunity to experience life as a professional athlete, trial new race day products, and the chance to bank huge performance-based cash prizes."

It also adds,

"Project3 will allow 100 runners participating in each race the opportunity to prepare for race day in the same way PUMA’s elite athletes do, with exclusive access to the brand’s most innovative running products that will revolutionize your race day experience."

Participants will gain access to the brand's exclusive running gear and will be guided by the PUMA Elite Running Team. The team comprises experienced coaches, professional runners, and other experts. They will come with tailored advice and significant resources to prepare the runners for the marathon.

PUMA is also offering cash rewards for standout performers. Below is what PUMA had to mention about this:

"PUMA will also offer all Project3 participants the chance to walk away with an incredible cash prize of $3,000 if they break their existing marathon PB by three minutes or more. PUMA will also reward $3,000 to the fastest Project3 male and female finishers of each race, as well as the the male and female runners who break their marathon PB by the biggest margin out of all Project3 runners."

It continues:

"Should one individual secure all three prizes, they could potentially be rewarded a substantial payout of $9,000. To top it off, PUMA will also reward these six individuals with an all-expenses paid trip to a PUMA sponsored race in 2025, and kit them out for one year with PUMA Running product valued at up to $5,000."

Eligibility criteria for participation

  • A valid entry or bib for the 2025 Boston Marathon (April 21, 2025) or London Marathon (April 27, 2025).
