Krispy Kreme is celebrating the much-awaited expansion to McDonald's stores across the United States with free Original Glazed doughnuts.
The freebie can be claimed by producing a McDonald's receipt at any K. Kreme store. People interested in taking advantage of the promotion can produce the digital or paper McD's receipt of any item purchased between October 10 and October 14, 2024.

The free Original Glazed doughnuts can only be claimed in person and will be limited to one per guest. Fans can visit any participating Krispy Kreme store till midnight of October 14, 2024, to claim the free doughnut. A purchase at the Kreme store is not necessary to claim the freebie.
Sharing the reason for the partnered expansion in a press release on October 10, Josh Charlesworth, K. Kreme President and CEO, said:
“The top request we receive from consumers is for more access to our delicious, fresh doughnuts.”
Excited about giving back to fans at the head of the expansion, he continued:
“Having Kríspy Kreme doughnuts under the Golden Arches is golden for our fans and we’re excited to celebrate by giving our guests who also visit a McDonald’s a free Original Glazed doughnut.”

Krispy Kreme first announced its plans for a partnered expansion with McDonald's in March 2024. The deal aimed to leverage McD's global reach to make the chain's desserts accessible to a wider customer base.
The first phase of the expansion is set to begin in Chicago on October 15, 2024. It will allow Chicago residents to enjoy their favorite Krispy Kreme doughnuts at select McDonald's locations.
Unlike Krispy Kreme stores, McDonald's will only offer Original Glazed, Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles, and Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled doughnuts. Starting at over $2.69 each, they will be delivered fresh to the McD's stores daily and will be available throughout the day.
For people wondering what to expect from the three doughnuts, here's a sneak peek into what they have to offer:
- Original Glazed® Doughnut ($2.69) - The iconic original, coated in the chain's signature glaze.
- Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Doughnut ($2.99) - Original Glazed doughnut coated with chocolate icing and decorated with rainbow sprinkles.
- Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled Doughnut ($2.99) - It features a light-n-fluffy doughnut loaded with a delicious Kreme filling and comes coated with chocolate icing.
The expansion will be rolled out in multiple phases and is expected to cover over 1,000 McDonald's stores by the end of 2024. People outside Chicago may have to wait a bit longer for the doughnuts to arrive at McDonald's stores in their area.
The nationwide expansion targets over 12,000 McDonald's stores and is speculated to be completed by the end of 2026.
While Krispy Kreme and McDonald's have worked together on multiple occasions, this is the first time they are moving forward with a long-term business partnership. The deal is expected to help the doughnut and coffeehouse chain double its points of access by 2026.
