This is a few weeks after the business reported that it had been the victim of a cyberattack to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Regarding its website, the company reported that it was "experiencing certain operational disruptions,” which was “including with online ordering in parts of the United States."

Nearly two weeks after it was discovered, Krispy Kreme still has trouble fulfilling its online doughnut orders due to a cybersecurity assault that is still interfering with business operations.

On December 11, the doughnut company announced that it had discovered "unauthorized activity" on several of its computer systems on November 29.

The company stated in a report to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that it started an inquiry right once in an effort to "contain and remediate the incident," but that operational disruptions were still occurring.

In several US states, Krispy Kreme doughnut online ordering has been particularly difficult. The business emphasized that there has been no impact on in-person sales or delivery to its partners, such as McDonald's, through which it is growing its locations around the country.

The ongoing inquiry has not yet determined "the full scope, nature, and impact of the incident," according to the SEC filing. It is unknown to the general public whether ransomware was a factor in the attack, and no organizations have come out to take credit for it.

Approximately sixteen percent of Krispy Kreme's sales come from online ordering. The business, which employs over 20,000 people worldwide and has more than 1,500 stores, stated that it did not anticipate any long-term effects from the hack but will be financially impacted in the near term by the loss of revenue from digital sales and the expense of hiring cybersecurity specialists.

When the attack was announced on Wednesday morning, the company's stock sank 2%.
