Addison Rae first grew popular for her viral dance moves on the video-sharing platform, TikTok in 2020 and amassed over 88 million followers. She capitalized on her popularity on TikTok and ventured into music with the release of her 2021 single, Obsessed.
In an interview with Bru of Audacy Magazine in November 2024, Addison Rae spoke on transitioning from TikTok to music:
“I love making music, I love acting, I love dancing. I think they all fall under this umbrella of creating and performing. And so anything under that realm, there's no limits, you know, nothing's off limits.”

After signing with Columbia Records in 2024, Rae collaborated with Charli XCX on the remix of the smash hit, Von Dutch. Speaking on the success of Diet Pepsi, Rae added:
"It's been crazy,” She further revealed that she had intended for the song to be titled Backseat, but changed it to Diet Pepsi on the advice of Charli XCX:
"I played it for Charlie. She was like, what, why isn't the song called Diet Pepsi?”
Rae hasn't revealed plans for future singles and album releases. Stay tuned for more updates.
