President-elect Donald Trump has a soft corner for fast-food chain McDonald’s. In October 2024, while working at the restaurant’s drive-thru in Pennsylvania during his election campaign, Trump was asked about his favorite order at McD. He did not even take a second to reply, ‘I like it all.’

“I like McDonald’s. I like every ounce of it, everything but I do like french fries,” Donald Trump said.

While working at the drive-thru, he took a turn at making fries, salting them, and putting them in the boxes. He also handed the orders to the customers and said the treat was on him.

However, this was not the first time he expressed his love for the food giant. His son-in-law Jared Kushner, in his 2022 book Breaking History, revealed Donald Trump’s favorite order while recovering from COVID-19 in 2020. As per a report by the New York Post, during the recovery phase, he wanted to have a Big Mac, Filet-o-Fish, vanilla shake, and some fries.

Donald Trump’s love for the Golden Arches was not limited to him, as he loved to treat others from his favorite eatery. In January 2019, when the winning Clemson Tigers football team visited the White House, he ordered 1000 hamburgers from McD, Wendy’s, and Burger King. Speaking to the press then, he said:

“I think we are going to serve McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King with some pizza. I really mean it.”

The resident staff could not come to work due to a government shutdown. So, he ordered huge quantities of food for the visiting guests and also mocked the idea of eating healthy, saying:

“Or do we give you some little quick salads that the first lady will make along with the second lady, they will make some salads.”

Donald Trump prefers McDonald’s because of its safety and hygiene

In the 2017 book Let Trump Be Trump, Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie wrote that Trump’s standard order would be two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish sandwiches, and a shake, especially chocolate.

On November 17, 2024, Donald Trump’s son, Don Jr., posted a photo on X in which he was seen having McDonald’s food with Elon Musk, RFK Jr., his son, and Mike Johnson on a private jet. Besides McD burgers, bottles of Diet Coke were also accompanying their meal. The photo was captioned:

“Make America Healthy Again starts TOMORROW.”

As per a recent report by Marca, the menu on his private jet, Trump Force One, includes a handful of items from the Golden Arches. The main course features classics like the Big Mac Combo, McFish, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, and KFC fried chicken. Side dishes include crispy French fries accompanied by sauces, with ketchup reportedly being his favorite. To complete the meal, a Diet Coke is served.

Reportedly, he preferred fast food more because he believed in the hygiene standards of the big food giants. In his 2018 book, Michael Wolff mentioned that Donald Trump had a poison scare and preferred McDonald’s because the food was safely premade. Trump has defended his preference for fast food, emphasizing its consistent standards and cleanliness.
