Drake's OVO x Air Jordan 9 sneaker samples: Design details and more explored

Nike-owned Jumpman label and Drake's OVO's co-designed two Air Jordan 9 samples appeared online recently. The Jordan brand and Drake’s OVO made a sensation in the sneaker world between 2016 and 2018 when they dropped several sneakers. Among them, many never made it to retail and remain elusive.

From that rare sampled cache, two colorways of OVO X Air Jordan 9 recently appeared on the web. For the first time, these sneakers came into the public eye through the Instagram post of @ayeelectric_.

For now, no release details are available. It is, however, expected that these sneakers will most likely remain unreleased for the public. For now, except for the complete look of sneakers, all other details are hazy.

Drake's OVO x Air Jordan 9 sneaker samples appeared in black and white makeup

As per the pictures shared by sample sneaker collector @ayeelectric_ on Instagram, both black and white iterations of OVO X Air Jordan 9 are constructed with premium leather. The sneakers maintain the monochromatic theme with some gold touches. The black pair shows off a sparkling mudguard and heel overlay, while the white version goes for a textured leather finish.

Both sample sneakers display the gold October’s Very Own branding label on the tongue tag and heel. Other branding aspects include the Jumpman logo on the lateral side of the heel and the very conspicuous number 23 marking on the heel.

The outsole of the shoe also sports the collaborative branding of OVO and the Jordan. The midsoles of the black version are done in contrasting hues, whereas the white one has the same colored midsoles. The picture is completed with an icy outsole.

The collaboration between OVO and the Jordan brand is not new. In 2014, Drake collaborated with Jordan for the first time and released many successful sneakers. The period from 2016 to 2018 was the time when the duo launched some highly sought-after sneakers.

During this phase, many sample shoes also made so much buzz. These OVO X Air Jordan 9s were among those sneakers that never reached the public. Now, the picture of these kicks again made the internet talk about them.
