Cubitts and SOAR have partnered up for the release of what is termed “ultralight titanium sunglasses.” The Cirrus, a pair of sunglasses designed for performance running has reportedly been tested over thousands of kilometers by athletes and has been described as suitable for the toughest running conditions.

The eyewear weighs just 10 grams and is ultralight and comes in a compact design. The eyewear brand Cubitts teased the new eyewear on Instagram on December 4, 2024. Described as the world’s lightest running glasses, the Cirrus will launch on February 25, 2025.

Cubitts x SOAR Cirrus running glasses, more details explored

The eyewear brand introduces its latest brainchild on its website as follows:

"Ultralight titanium sunglasses, tested over thousands of kilometers. Featuring a custom RiPel™ ZEISS shield lens, with superior UV protection and advanced coatings. Ergonomically contoured, with beta titanium temples and crosshatched nose pads, flexing seamlessly with every stride."

The Cirrus eyewear is inspired by Constantin Brancusi’s Bird in Space. The eyewear is said to also adapt to movement while the crosshatched notepads ensure comfortable fitting for the runner.

Cirrus is made from a 22-gram prototype that underwent a refining process for 18 months to produce a titanium skeleton. The frame of the glasses is described as durable and engineered for comfort and stability.

The frames featured in the Cirrus campaign are blue black, and green. The design of the Cirrus blends a large lens with thin handles for a fashionable look. The RiPel shield lens on the Cubitts x SOAR Cirrus promises maximum coverage, resistance to scratches, moisture-made smudges, and UV protection.
