Beauty trends change from time to time. A viral trend that has continued to be a favorite for many, including celebrities is the 'clean girl' makeup look. Akin to the 'no makeup' look, the 'clean girl' makeup uses minimal products to achieve a smooth glass-skin finish.

This makeup look aims to enhance your pre-existing features and gives you a bright aesthetic, perfect for everyday wear. Getting a luxury facial treatment is not always possible or affordable. However, the 'clean girl' makeup routine gives you a sophisticated and chic finish on a budget.

Steps and products to achieve the 'clean girl' makeup look

The 'clean girl' makeup has been sported by many celebrities, like Dua Lipa, Alia Bhatt, Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajwoski, and many more. While the look went viral in 2022, it has continued to be a crowd favorite and in just five steps, you can achieve the look without burning a hole in your pocket.

1. Prep the base

The base is very important in achieving a 'clean girl' makeup look. If it is too heavy or your skin remains dehydrated, it can be difficult to build your look. Celebrities, like Hailey Bieber, begin with hydrating the skin with a moisturizer infused with a few drops of highlighter. You can also prep your skin with a serum to infuse more hydration. Preferably, use a product with SPF which will protect your skin from the sun when you step out.

2. Brows

It is recommended to fluff your brows and since this look is about accentuating your natural features, you don't have to worry about the thickness of the brows. If fluffing your brows is not something you typically do, try filling them with a brow pencil.

3. Conceal and contour

You can conceal parts of your skin that may have darkness or discoloration. The idea is not to go for a full-coverage look which can make your skin look cakey. Rather cover the blemishes lightly, primarily under the eye. You can use the concealer to sculpt and shape your face. At this point, you can also use a blush on your cheeks and nose to achieve a luminous finish. It is best to use cream products that naturally glide over your skin.

4. Lips

To complete the makeup routine, finish with a nude lipstick or a lip gloss that is similar to the natural shade of your lips. Using a hydrating gloss reduces the dryness in your lips and gives a plump finish.

5. Sleek hair

The sleek hairstyle may have gained popularity in recent years, but it has existed in many cultures for ages. The sleek hair and clean aesthetic come from Latin, African, and South Asian cultures. You can keep your hair in a bun or a low ponytail, but the middle partition is considered a must. You can use a hair oil or spray to achieve a sleek look, which further highlights your face.

Additionally, you can add to the look with clean and classy nails. You can achieve clean and glossy-looking nails with nude nail paint and finish it off with a gel polish.

This makeup routine is for anyone who doesn't have time to do a full makeup routine or is looking for a versatile look. Whether it is a brunch with your girls or a meeting, the clean girl makeup look is all you need.
