For cereal enthusiasts, Cinnamon Toast Crunch has offered a number of limited-edition varieties. But its most recent partnership is grabbing attention for its daring and audacious flavor combination that is leaving fans both perplexed and intrigued.

According to People Magazine, General Mills and Totino's are working together on a peculiar product that could work: cereal with a pizza flavor.

A "match made in mashup heaven" full of "bold flavors," the limited-edition morning snack will blend the savory taste of Totino's Pizza Rolls with the sweetness and cereal-like texture of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

The launch

On Cinnamon Toast Crunch's website, 1,000 fans may join a competition to win the limited-edition flavor for free starting Tuesday, January 28 at 7:00 pm EST.

The publication of this advertising is luckily coinciding with the Super Bowl, which is scheduled for Sunday, February 9.

If that's not crazy enough, you can have it for free from Cinnamon Toast Crunch's web store. It will also arrive in a package that is obliquely shaped to resemble a pizza box.

There's a catch, though: the product is only available for a short time. You will not be able to get the cereal if you are not one of the 1,000 admirers who will be picked by the brand through a contest.

The timing of the launch

With the recent announcement that it would be running its first Super Bowl commercial during the game, Totino's is now on a (pizza) roll.

A 15-second trailer for it has already been released, and it stars comedian Tim Robinson, who is best known for his Netflix series I Think You Should Leave. Sam Richardson, an actor and comedian, also co-stars alongside him on the show.

Given that it features a hairy, gray, humanoid-looking space species that may have a speaking line, it is certain to be an unusual one. Having said that, we doubt that a humorous ad can surpass a combination of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Totino's Pizza Roll. No information has been given on the possibility of a larger distribution of this cereal.

Consumer reception

This combination has been perceived as unusual, to say the least. The social media posts about the launch showed mixed reactions from consumers.

Strawberry-Flavored Cinnamon Toast Crunch Walmart

Walmart now sells a limited-edition Cinnamon Toast Crunch with a strawberry flavor for lovers who like their cereal sweeter. The brand's crunchy, bite-sized squares are now available in the new flavor, but they now taste like strawberries.

Walmart is anticipated to be the only shop stocking family-sized boxes this month, per Allrecipes.

Try the Great Value Strawberry Shortcake Cereal, which has gotten good reviews and can be a good stand-in until you can get your hands on a box of General Mills' version if it isn't currently available where you live.

Food insider @cereallife recently revealed the drop on Instagram.
