As the first Fashion Week of the year begins at the end of January, the whole fashion world has gathered in Paris, France.
This event provides sneakerheads a sneak peek into what's to come from the combination of high fashion and sportswear, which is frequently characterized by several partnerships with Comme des Garçons.
As CDG has shown off pairs with Nike, the Air Rejuven8, and new partnerships with New Balance, this practice has come full circle.
Release date, where to buy, price
Fall 2025 will allegedly see the debut of the Comme des Garçons Homme x New Balance 509 Pack at a few online and in-store stores, including Dover Street Market.
As of right now, no retail price has been disclosed.
Sneaker design
The model retools the sneaker using the New Balance 530's midsole and outsole while keeping the original top, following the trend of previous tech runners that NB brought back in recent memory.
Naturally, the model receives a material update in two neutral hues once CDG touches the sneaker.
One pair has an almost entirely white finish, with the little grey tint imparted to the leather's borders to distinguish each panel.
In the alternative version, the design alternates between metallic silver, black, white, and dark gray.
The upper foundation is covered in perforated leather, while the toebox, midfoot, eye stays, and heel overlays are all finished with smooth leather.
With CDG Homme taking the place of the NB emblem on the tongue tag, New Balance branding is still present on the midfoot.
Co-branded badges on the footbed, 509 insignia on the lateral heel, and a tonal Abzorb cushioned midsole that was taken from the New Balance 530 are the finishing touches.
Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 992 “Aged Well” to release in 2025
Joe Freshgoods has established himself as a crucial partner for New Balance by contributing his unique Chicago flair to the company's recognizable shapes.
He is introducing the Prom Blue and Paris Red hues from his most recent 990v6 collection.
Like the majority of his work, this release comes with eye-catching marketing that tells the significance and backstory of the designs.
In the campaign ad, a vintage automobile prominently has the Illinois license plate "992 2025," implying that he will be partnering with New Balance in the future.
This new JFG 992 is essentially an upgraded version of Joe's previously mentioned first collaboration, which was inspired by his very first New Balance effort, the NB 992 No Emotions Are Emotions.
When compared to his original 992, the color scheme here uses fading pastels that give the impression that the shoe is older.
His JFG logo on the tongue and a pink tint on the back of the foam midsole are two new features.
With general release colors and partnerships anticipated to flood the market throughout this year, the 992 model is poised for a significant comeback.
In 2025, Joe Freshgoods' website, his Every Now and Then shop, New Balance, and a few online and in-store merchants will all carry the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 992 Made in USA Aged Well.
The retail price has not yet been disclosed.
The New Balance 509, which enjoyed a modest comeback last year but hasn't yet made it to the US market, is the subject of CDG's most recent collaboration with New Balance.
With the debut of the Plum Brown Black and Black Silver versions in October, the model, which originated in the late 2000s and early 2010s, made a comeback in Korea and the Asian market.
