After more than a decade, adidas has reintroduced the Adizero shoes. The lineup is one of the most beloved golf shoe lines in the global sneakers industry. The brand new Adizero ZG will officially launch on January 31, 2025, and will be available on adidas’ website, app, and select retailers worldwide.

It will come in multiple colorways for men, women, and juniors, with options for both laced and BOA models, and a retail price starting around $150.

The shoes were first launched in 2013. It got notable attention as a golf footwear from enthusiasts. Now, the Adizero range is making a comeback in the form of the Adizero ZG golf shoes. The brand claims that these shoes aim to reduce foot fatigue while meeting the demands of golfers.

Exploring the features of the Adizero ZG shoes

One of the significant features of the new Adizero ZG shoes is its SPIKEMORE outsole. Unlike its predecessor’s spikes, the spikeless design comes with a subtler and effective traction system.

Undercut lugs along the sole’s perimeter have been added for lateral stability. A secondary cone-shaped traction pattern is also sported on the shoes. The anti-clogging feature equips the shoes with a good grip.

Here is how adidas presented the new Adizero shoes in an official press release:

"adidas wants golfers to know that light isn’t always less, it’s more. Today the brand is reintroducing the Adizero franchise to golf with Adizero ZG, a new spikeless performance footwear model aimed to enhance stability, traction and comfort while fighting against foot fatigue by being light all round."

The brand also adds,

"The new footwear will be offered in both laced and BOA® options for men and women and will be available on adidas.com, the adidas app and at select retailers worldwide beginning Friday, January 31."

The new Adizero shoes combine Lightstrike and Lightstrike Pro cushioning in the midsole. This dual-layer system offers a close-to-the-ground feel, the brand claims.

Additional features, such as the INSITE 2.0 sock liner and a molded heel cushion, have been incorporated. These features are especially beneficial for golfers' fatigue-free experience.

The Adizero ZG introduces a Dynamic Torsion plate in the outsole. This plate minimizes rollover and power leaks. Golfers are also expected to benefit from the updated arch support.

Masun Denison, the global footwear director of adidas, highlighted some of the shoes' benefits, stating,

“A golfer’s feet and footwear are extremely critical to not only the swing but also their overall enjoyment of the round. Adizero ZG represents the next step on our journey to provide golfers with a lightweight option that has technology specifically focused on tackling those important areas like traction, stability and comfort, all in a spikeless silhouette.”

The upper of the Adizero shoes is made from adidas’ Sprintskin material, a multi-layer construction, waterproofing, and weight reduction. The shoes also feature a heel clip for a locked-in feel.

BOA fit system of the latest Adizero shoes

adidas has launched a BOA version of the Adizero ZG. This model features a Primeknit sock-like construction and a Li2 dial. This will allow players to slide their feet in effortlessly and adjust the fit. The BOA system is hidden within the upper of the shoes.

The brand details this feature, stating,

"adidas collaborated with the BOA Technology team to create a PRIMEKNIT sock-like construction so that golfers can slip the footwear on and then dial-in their fit with the micro-adjustable Li2 dial."
