According to the Los Angeles Times, as of Thursday, January 17, just 22% of the Palisades and 55% of the Eaton fires were controlled, resulting in the loss of over 12,000 homes, businesses, schools, and other structures in the wildfires in Los Angeles.
It will take a long time for the thousands of displaced residents to restore their lives. People have been searching for ways to support victims, such as contributing to as many GoFundMe campaigns and charitable organizations as possible.
Additionally, companies are giving out free merchandise to consumers or directly contributing a portion of their profits to disaster assistance.
