5 beauty trends from New York Fashion Week 2025 you should try out

1. Dramatic Smokey Eyes

For the LUAR show, the brand featured dramatic smokey eyes in white and black color, created by Terry Barber. The makeup artist used MAC cosmetics products, which include Eye Shadow in Gesso, M·A·Cximal Sleek Satin Lipstick in Fleshpot, M·A·Cximal Silky Matte Lipstick in Yash and Acting Natural, and Lip Pencil in Greige to create the look. One can pair it with false lashes to make the look more fluttery and dramatic.

2. Rubber Boyfriend-Inspired Makeup

Created by Susie Sobol, the makeup look for Gabe Gordan's NYFW show was inspired by the collection 'Rubber Boyfriend.' Susie kept the makeup very minimal, with a shiny, moisturized face and light eye makeup. The highlight of the look was their glossy, pink rubber-inspired lips. One can create this look using a plumping lip gloss for a fuller effect, topped with lip oil for a glow.

3. The Vampire Contour

Tory Burch's NYFW show highlighted highly sculpted and hollow cheeks that created a vampire-like effect. The makeup was kept minimal, with little to no blush and only contour seen even from far away for a chiseled face look. One can create this look using the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand, which retails for $42 on Sephora, or the Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Match Stix Matte Contour Skinstick, which retails for $32 on Sephora. Make sure to blend it to avoid harsh lines.

4. High Voluminous Ponytail

Christian Cowan's NYFW show featured super high ponytails, taking inspiration from the retro looks. The ponytail had a sleek front with extra height in the back and flipped-out ends. To create the look, one can use Moroccanoil Mini Luminous Hairspray Strong Hold, which retails for $14 on Sephora. Gently brush the hair and make a ponytail, making sure the tie section is seen from the front. Apply generous hairspray to keep it intact, and use a curling wand to create a flipped-out hair look at the end.

5. Wet Sculpted Hairstyle

Christian Siriano introduced the sculpted wet hairstyle in his NYFW show. The looks featured sleek back hair paired with structured swirls and loops on the back. The fashion brand partnered with Lacy Redway and Tresemme to create the hairstyle. One can use the Tresemme Extra Hold Hair Mousse to add shine to the hair. Its travel size retails for $2.99 at Target. Finish the look with Tresemme Extra Hold Hairspray, which retails for $8.49 at Target, to create structure and swirls.
