If you want to do something worthwhile, perhaps volunteer your time. Often, organizations need additional help over the holidays, and even a small gesture can make all the difference. Whether you are helping out at the local food bank, the shelter, or a charity event, it can help fill you with a purpose. Volunteering also helps people get to know others, especially those who might have spent Christmas alone, therefore building a kind of community that helps them feel good about themselves as they welcome Christmas day.
