Basketball shoes have been popular for a long now, primarily because sneaker brands like Adidas, Nike, PUMA, and others are pouring more effort into creating basketball shoes that can handle almost all playing styles while looking aesthetic. Thanks to the efforts of several sneaker companies, basketball shoes have evolved from functional footwear into an accessory for sneakerheads' wardrobes. Several fashionable and practical basketball shoes came out in 2024.
1) Nike Book 1 “Python”
Devin Booker and the Swoosh label co-designed the Nike Book 1 “Python” rendition that entered the market on September 12, 2024. These basketball shoes were made available at select Nike retailers in-store and online. The basketball shoes offered in men’s sizing were marked with a retail price tag of $150. Devin’s shoe colorway was decked in a Light Orewood Brown/Black-Gum Light Brown-Sail palette.
2) Nike KD 17 “Aunt Pearl”
Kevin Durant’s and Swoosh brand’s Nike KD 17 “Aunt Pearl” dropped on November 22, 2024. These pairs were sold via select Nike Basketball sellers, both offline and online at Nike.com. The sneakers were marked with a $160 price tag and presented in men’s sizing. They were dressed in a Pink Foam/Beyond Pink scheme.
3) Air Jordan 12 “Phantom”
Jumpman label released the women’s special Air Jordan 12 “Phantom” colorway on December 2, 2024. Sold via select online and offline retailers and Nike stores, these shoes were labeled with a price tag of $200. These Jordan shoes were decked in a Phantom/Metallic Gold-White palette.
4) LaMelo Ball x PUMA MB.04 “Heem”
The LaMelo Ball x PUMA MB.04 “Heem” sneaker dropped on December 13, 2024. The men’s basketball pairs were marked with a $125 tag, while the GS sizes were offered for $100. These LaMelo Ball signature pairs were sold via the online stores and physical shops of PUMA. The sneakers were clad in a PUMA Black-Luminous Pink-Electric Lime scheme.
5) Air Jordan 1 Low “Game Royal”
Jumpman label presented the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Game Royal” rendition on November 30, 2024, using the affiliated Jordan Brand sellers, both offline and online, alongside Nike.com. As the name suggests, the shoe featured Game Royal hues combined with classic black and white touches. They came out with a selling price of $140 per pair.
6) Nike LeBron 22 “Currency”
LeBron James’ signature shoe was reimagined by Monopoly with the Monopoly x Nike LeBron 22 “Currency” sneakers. They were dropped in markets on November 15, 2024. The brand offered them men’s sizing with a price tag of $200 and was sold via the online and physical sites of Nike and other stores. This rendition was clad in a White/Green Glow-Pink Foam-Baltic Blue palette.
7) Adidas Harden Vol. 8 “Crew Yellow”
The Adidas Harden Vol. 8 “Crew Yellow” basketball rendition came out on August 1, 2024. These Adidas basketball sneakers were clad in a Core Black/Yellow-Core Black palette. They were traded via online and offline Adidas shops and were priced at $160.
8) Air Jordan 5 “White Black”
The Air Jordan 5 “White Black” iteration was completely dressed in White/Black-Sail-Metallic Silver makeup. These Jumpman basketball shoes went on sale for $200 on December 7, 2024. These dual-toned Jordans were sold by online and offline shops of Nike. The sneaker boasted a sleek White and Black leather upper with mesh panels.
9) Nike Ja 2 “In The Woods”
Ja Morant and Swoosh label launched Nike Ja 2 “In The Woods” rendition of their joint sneaker model. This basketball shoe came out on November 20, 2024. They were entirely decked in a White/Hemp-Vintage Green-Astronomy Blue combination. With a selling price label of $120, these men’s shoes were marketed via the Nike website and its connected stores.
10) Kyrie Irving x ANTA KAI 1 “Artist On Court”
Dallas Mavericks’ Kyrie Irving and the ANTA sneaker brand launched their jointly created ANTA KAI 1 “Artist On Court” basketball shoes on March 6, 2024. These sneakers were sold on platforms such as Sneaker Politics, ANTA's official website, and other partnering sites. The retail price of these shoes was $125 in the men's size.
11) Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Hollywood Nights”
The Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Black/University Gold” was made public via both online and offline Nike stores. They came out on September 6, 2024, and were sold in men’s, GS, and PS sizes, with $190, $120, and $90 price tags, respectively. These “Hollywood Nights” basketball shoes were clad in a Black/University Gold-White-Court Purple color scheme.
12) Jordan Tatum 3 “Sidewalk Chalk”
Jayson Tatum and Jumpman label dropped their collaborative Jordan Tatum 3 “Sidewalk Chalk” on December 12, 2024. These collab shoes were sold in both men's and GS sizes, with $125 and $90 price tags, respectively. The “Sidewalk Chalk” rendition was completely covered by an Anthracite/Orange Pearl/Barely Green/Pale Ivory color scheme. They were sold via the Nike site and other select retailers.
13) Jordan Poole x Nike GT Cut 3
Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole and Nike released their joint shoe design, Nike GT Cut 3 PE on November 11, 2024. These collab shoes were marked with a $190 price label and sold via the Nike website. These shoes were clad in a Pale Ivory/Metallic Gold-Sail-Alabaster-Lightening Soft Yellow color palette.
14) Nike Sabrina 2 “White Noise”
Sabrina Ionescu’s Nike Sabrina 2 “White Noise” was put out on the market on October 1, 2024. It was sold at select Nike Basketball retailers both offline and online. These basketball shoes were marked with a $130 price tag. The shoe included synthetic overlays over a neat white mesh foundation. The effect was accentuated by a silver Swoosh. Glacier blue tongue and insole embellishments with Sabrina's branding added vibrancy.
15) Jordan Luka 3 “El Matador”
Luka Doncic and Jumpman label together launched another colorway of their joint model, Jordan Luka 3 “El Matador” on October 10, 2024. These basketball shoes were offered through chosen Jordan Brand sellers in-store and online, alongside Nike.com. They were presented in men’s sizing, labeled with a selling price tag of $130.
