As the year ends, we come to think of the past time in a different light. We learn what we are thankful for. And we don't know about you, but we are definitely thankful for Air Jordans this year.
We continue to purchase Air Jordans, and customers continue to spend billions of dollars on the same old sneakers from decades ago, especially when the 40th anniversary of the original Air Jordan approaches. The hunt for Jordans is fascinating because none of them are exactly the same old sneakers from decades ago.
What distinguishes a 2024 retro from a 2018 one? Does it make sense to remix the iconic pieces that Michael Jordan wore that Tinker Hatfield designed? Travis Scott, how many more brown Jordans can he get away with?
Even if the actual sneakers are quite, well, old, it's these questions and their responses that keep us up at night, keep us discussing Jordans, and ultimately keep these things feeling new. For the most part, we are still completely enamored with Air Jordans after over 40 years.
These were the year's top Air Jordans in 2024 and the ones that mattered.

Top 10 Air Jordan released in 2024
Air Jordan 9 "Olive"
The Air Jordan 9 "Olive" falls barely shy of the highest level of the original Air Jordans. It belongs to Tinker Hatfield's indestructible collection of Jordan designs. Released on November 9, its olive and black body and the red button-like logo of Air Jordan on the back make this shoe a fun and interesting pair to have in your trendy collection.
Air Jordan 4 Retro "Military Blue"
These are the "Military Blue" Air Jordan 4s, an excellent sneaker. It's a unique colorway of one of the greatest Air Jordans ever made. The shoe was released on May 4. The shoe received a very simple but effective reception and feedback from fans, who said that the blue of the shoe made it look very refreshing, inviting, and happy.
Nina Chanel Abney x Air Jordan 3
This sneaker was released on June 20 of this year. Abney's striking style and the reimagining of the misfit of prime-era Air Jordan designs were related, as fans of her work would say. As though the hues jumped off the canvas of one of her paintings, her idea for the shoes stripped the model of its distinctive leather and elephant print and replaced the texture with waxed canvas and messy suede in vivid shades of green, orange, and blue.
Air Jordan 11 "Legend Blue"
This shoe is a reminder that the Air Jordan 11 always arrives in one of the original color schemes, as it did this year in the white-based "Legend Blue," formerly known as the "Columbia." Michael Jordan wore the sneaker and his iconic Chilli Pepper All-Star jersey during the 1996 NBA All-Star Game in San Antonio. Released on December 14, fans claim this is the cleanest Air Jordan 11 ever made.
Air Jordan 3 x J Balvin "Rio"
J Balvin had made a pair of shoes with Air Jordan last year as well, which were a white version of this one. According to the fans, that one went on to become the best shoe of the year in all categories. However, this shoe, which was released on May 22, did not receive the same reception as its predecessor. However, we are still on the website going after this sneaker. The smiley on the right back with thunderbolts for eyes gives it a funkier vibe, along with the colors that take part in making the shoe the legend it is.
Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low "Elkins"
Released on May 25, this sneaker is a homage to Scott's alma mater, Elkin's High School. The great majority of Scott's eight Air Jordan 1 Low releases have been in well-known neutral hues that go seamlessly with the rest of his style. This time, however, Travis gave his supporters a little more insight into his life by clothing the 1 Low in blue and canary yellow, which are the colors of his alma mater in Missouri City, Texas. We're giving Travis credit this time for experimenting a little with the new colorway, even though it might just be another iteration of the Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 Low.
Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 4 RM
The Jumpman enlisted biker Nigel Sylvester to assist with a brand-new silhouette, and the launch was as flawless as it gets. The fans actually went so crazy for it that after starting the launch day in London and going on a bike ride with hundreds of supporters, Sylvester immediately boarded a plane to New York City, where he, Lil Yachty, and other fans essentially closed down the streets of Manhattan. The shoe was finally released on July 20.
Air Jordan 4 "Bred Reimagined"
Indeed, the original "Bred" Air Jordan 4 is well-known and beloved. Is it better than a smoother leather, though, or is it just what we know and like? Would we have been complaining that the "reimagined" nubuck version was good but not as good as the original if the original version had been made of standard leather? This is not hard to imagine, given that all of the other original Air Jordan 4 colorways were leather, as was the equally iconic "Black Cement" Air Jordan 3. Released on February 17, the shoe's red, white, and black design gives it a hip and trendy look that most of us are looking for.
Air Jordan 3 "Black Cement"
One of the greatest Air Jordans ever made is, without a doubt, the “Black Cement” Air Jordan 3, which debuted in 1988. Six different re-releases of the shoe have occurred since then. But this shoe, finally released on November 23, has faired far better than all the other remakes. The red color of the Jumper logo and the inside of the tongue flap is an absolute welcome to contrast the grey and black of the rest of the body.
Jordan Jumpman Jack (Or CJ I T-Rexx) "Sail"
Out of all the sneakers that Travis Scott has created with Nike, this one quickly became a fan favorite after being released on April 30. The brown, white, and off-white body provides the neutral tones that fans appreciate. As rare as it is, the shoe has a lace closure and a mid-foot adjustable strap.
We hope you enjoyed going through this list as much as we did making it! The year is almost over, and we are going back to hop on the sneaker-shopping train one last time before the new year begins!
