When asked if its inventor is a "good person," Elon Musk's AI chatbot Grok gave the eerily straightforward response, "No," which got everyone on the internet LOL (at least in the tweets). Memes and replies filled timelines on social media as the surprise response gained rapid engagement. Another person quote-retweeted the now-famous discussion with the comment,

"Oh you cooked with this bro," while another user tweeted,
"Oh my god."

And with that, another meme moment was created. An AI's frankness about its own creator seldom generates this much attention, but considering Musk's contentious public image, it seems almost appropriate. Musk himself claims that Grok, a cutting-edge AI created as a rival to ChatGPT, has a bit of a "rebellious" tendency. However, its public denial of its creator's purported goodness has left followers reeling with irony and howling with amusement.

Grok’s blunt AI honesty leaves the internet in stitches as it weighs in on its own creator, Elon Musk

Once Grok delivered the digital equivalent of shade, fans wasted no time sharing their reactions. One user nailed the irony, posting,

"Grok is more honest than Elon. 😂" .

And it didn’t stop there. Screenshots of Grok being asked other pointed questions started circulating. One tweet showing a user asking Grok if the Pope was a good person garnered another

“No,” leading to a tweet reading, “Grok's having a bad hair day.”

Another user captured the growing sentiment around the fiasco, tweeting,

"In his Villain Arc, and loving every minute of it," accompanied by a GIF of Musk flashing the peace sign.

The chaos continued with another tweet:

"There’s no trickery here either, it just straight up said no lmfao."

Musk, who is no stranger to memes or online discourse, became the focal point of jokes, with one user quipping,

"God moved to Bluesky."

Others joked about AI preferences, like one tweet saying,

“Don’t go and ask ChatGPT then,” hinting at the potential for other AIs to express conflicting opinions about Musk.

Perhaps the harshest and most on-point reaction came from a user who wrote,

“The way it’s real😭 it must be embarrassing for ur own app to not like u,”

highlighting the absurdity of the situation in a way only social media can.

Grok, Elon, and the bigger picture

Beneath the jokes and memes, Grok is a component of Musk's larger plans to take on ChatGPT from OpenAI. Grok was once marketed as an edgier, more amusing AI with the intention of serving as a tool for the courageous. However, its audacious reaction has sparked discussion about the possible drawbacks of AI technology, particularly when it unintentionally mocks its own inventor.

Elon's quest for AI is related to his vision of a world where technology dominates human existence, from self-driving vehicles to AI-driven applications. But even with careful design, artificial intelligence may be unpredictable, as Elon's frank assessment of Musk suggests. This dramatic twist in the tech mogul's ongoing story is being adored by fans, and some people believe Musk will soon comment on the entire situation—probably with his own meme.
