The Russo Brothers’ latest film, The Electric State, just made history, but not the good kind. The sci-fi epic starring Millie Bobby Brown has officially become their lowest-rated film ever, with a whopping 19% on Rotten Tomatoes. For context, that’s lower than the GPA of a high school senior who spent the semester playing Fortnite.

If that wasn’t painful enough, the movie also boasts a staggering $320 million budget. That’s Avengers-level money, except instead of assembling Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, they seem to have assembled Earth’s Mightiest Mistakes.

Movie fans were quick to react when the film’s score hit the internet, and let’s just say... they did not hold back. The post announcing the disastrous rating went viral, racking up thousands of shares and comments, most of them roasting the movie harder than a Thanksgiving turkey.

One user summed up the general sentiment:

“Yikes bro lmao.”

When the humor is that dry, you know things are bad.

Others were quick to speculate what went wrong. Was it the script? The direction? Is a rogue AI secretly directing the film? One commenter (@QrispyCoasters) had an answer:

“Everyone involved with this production hates cinema.”

Brutal. But given the reception, it’s hard to argue.

If there's one thing the internet loves more than a good movie, it's a bad one they can collectively drag through the mud. And The Electric State has now become a goldmine for memes.

One user had a theory:

“Gotta be money laundering.”

Honestly? At $320 million, it’s not the craziest take.

Another person (@sohaibhassan007) channeled some philosophical wisdom:

“Sometimes u put so much work and effort but all in vain.”

Deep. Almost as deep as the Russo Brothers’ pockets after this movie tanked.

The superhero connection also didn’t go unnoticed. Since leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Russos have struggled to find their footing. One fan (@SpaceMonkey0009) pointed this out:

“These guys can't make anything decent without a superhero or a Bateman.”

Ouch. Maybe Jason Bateman is the secret ingredient.

And finally, some users didn’t even think a worse movie was possible. As one (@hongchen1476842) put it:

“A movie so bad it couldn't be worse.”

Well, if nothing else, The Electric State has accomplished the impossible.

At the end of the day, The Electric State will be remembered, just not in the way the Russo Brothers hoped. Whether it was a script disaster, a directorial misstep, or simply an overcooked CGI mess, the movie has officially joined the ranks of Hollywood’s most expensive flops.

On the bright side, at least we got some great memes out of it. And in this economy, laughter is priceless.
