MrBeast, a guy who donates islands offhand, organizes million-dollar contests and uses YouTube like his own playground, has now taken aim at the world of esports. In his typical MrBeast style, he announced a plan to acquire a League of Legends esports team over the next three years as a new "team owner" on his very long list.

MrBeast, in a podcast with the YouTube channel Clickbaited, showed his ambition to buy a League of Legends team. He said:
"I don't know if I have ever talked about League of Legends on a podcast but this would be a good one and makes sense. This would be my version of you know how like rich people buy like NBA teams and footballs. And I don't have that kind of money. But so this would be like my a poor man's version of that... I am not doing it for the love of Esport. I'm doing it for the love of League of Legends. I'm gonna get around to it eventually. It might truthfully be another 3-4 years..."
As soon as the news came out, someone (@emcverse) took to his X account and commented:
"Why not just start your own Mr Beast?"
And honestly, they weren't wrong. This is the man who constructed a whole theme park for a video - surely, putting together a team from scratch wouldn't even leave him sweating.
Picture Beast Gaming, where gamers don't merely battle for trophies but for private islands, Lambos, and all-you-can-eat Feastables for life. With MrBeast at the controls, world victories may just come with a side quest of enduring a 24-hour challenge in Baron pit.
MrBeast also revealed that he would probably name the team "Beast." When asked about the team name, he said:
"I guess probably Beast or something I don't know."

As predicted, the internet went wild with responses the instant MrBeast made the announcement. Some were excited about the prospect of Beast Gaming taking over the Rift, while others couldn't help but crack jokes about what an esports team owned by MrBeast would even be like.
Would the MVP receive a million dollars? Would the losing team have to spend 48 hours in the jungle? The options were limitless, and the memes poured in. Here's how fans actually felt about MrBeast making Summoner's Rift his next playground.
Netizens have reacted to MrBeast’s latest ambition to buy a League of Legends team
Some people made the entire thing into a meme fest, joking that players were competing for briefcases full of money and the losing team getting voted off like on a reality show. Others envisioned the Nexus blowing up, only for MrBeast to appear and say, "The last one standing wins $1 million:"
"Forget trophies, MrBeast's team gonna lift a golden briefcase after every win," a user hilariously commented.
"Mr Beasts whole LoL team will be on million dollar contracts with million dollar incentives," another user joked.
"Are we SURE he's not rich? He said he's not hut he definitely is, maybe not @elonmusk money but he's rich lol, another netizen sarcastically expressed.
Some reactions were half-and-half. Some credited MrBeast with bringing his brand of zaniness to the world of esports, suggesting his participation might push League of Legends to a whole different level. The other half simply joked. Because with MrBeast, even esports isn't safe from the mayhem:
"Bro's not buying a team, he's about to turn Worlds into a YouTube challenge," a folk commented.
"League of legends won’t even be a relevant game in 3 years," according to another user.
"He is a beast in every segment," according to a netizen.
And then there's the peanut gallery, making the whole affair comedy gold:
"imagine losing a match and mrbeast just gives the other team a tesla," a user joked.
A user (@555Astra) commented with a hilarious gif on X:
In the end, whether fans were cheering him or turning the whole thing into a meme-a-thon, it was one sure thing - MrBeast taking a stake in a League of Legends team is going to make Esport less of a competition and more of a YouTube challenge fest. Trophies? No way. Players would be fighting over million-dollar briefcases, Teslas, and perhaps even a private island.
