One of Volkswagen's most notable achievements last year was that they sold a hell lot of sausages— far more than they did cars. A staggering 8.5 million sausages and 5.2 million cars, if we're being accurate.

The world, however, seems to be in shock, as virtually no one knew they were selling sausages in the first place. Scores online have begun poking fun at the news, though some users expressing their disbelief is humorous enough.

Nonetheless, we've scoured X and brought to you all of the funniest comments, memes, and reactions we found online. Have fun!

Volkswagen reveals they made more in profits from selling sausages than cars: Users can't stop laughing

One user basically said what we were all thinking, albeit in the most hysterical way possible:

"They sell sausages?!"

Scores online were disbelief, because let's be honest, how many of us knew Volkswagen dealt with sausages, of all things?!

"Makes sense. Cars can be used more than once, a sausage is only used once. So of course the world needs more sausages than cars," another jokingly pointed out.
"I tend to buy more sausages per year than cars so this makes sense," one more jested.
"Where does one acquire a VW Sausage?" a fourth user humorously probed.

Here's what the rest of X is saying:

"I mean I could probably eat 10 sausages before I eat a single car," one user hilariously quipped.
"Because 1 sausage is much cheaper than 1 new car," yet another jokingly penned.
"When the side hustle becomes the main hustle," a third user jested.
"I didn't even know a sausage company made cars?!" someone else hilariously chimed in.

Users online were visibly in disbelief, though that didn't stop them from cracking some of the most hilarious jokes. One user paired their question with a hilarious meme as well, for instance:

Someone else hilariously chimed in with what it would have looked like when the Volskwagen employees decided they were "doin sausages now":

A large number of users did, however, point out that the price point of the two items is drastically different, which made it likely that the sausages would sell far more quickly than the Volkswagen cars anyway.
