Pop icon Harry Styles is apparently in the last stages of talks for a colossal 35-show residency at The Sphere, Las Vegas' revolutionary entertainment destination. If this one goes through, the deal will be a momentous milestone for Styles and the $2.3 billion tech-savvy arena, with a show that can be something out of this world on the Strip, as per New York Times.

The internet wasted no time roasting this announcement into oblivion. Some users joked that the arena would be so empty. Others chimed in, saying the announcement served as a warning for where not to go.

A user, @hurrihottie, joked:

"Good now I know where to avoid going."

Another user (@sethspov) opined:

"Why’d I think residency’s were only for artists who are washed up or older."

A user (@Sco__1) added:

"So that ll be 35 shows that don't sell out, got it."

A user (@siriusblackhole) mentioned:

"so he’s going broke."

A user (@Esbettus) said:

"Lord! Please let this be a fake news again! 🙏"

A user (@derbyteesniall) went on to say:

"Harry doing a residency at the Sphere before the arena he’s an investor of…"

Harry Styles in talks for a Las Vegas residency at The Sphere

Harry Styles, who charmed crowds with his energetic live shows and hits such as Watermelon Sugar and As It Was, has soared from boy band popularity to solo superstar status.

His Love On Tour residency, which wrapped in 2023, raked in a staggering $617 million.

In the meantime, James Dolan's The Sphere has been causing some buzz in the entertainment world.

Opening in 2023 with U2's 40-concert residency, the state-of-the-art venue has an unmatched visual and audio experience. Booking Styles would be a big boon for The Sphere, which is trying to maintain its role as Vegas' most popular destination for live music extravaganzas.

Talks are said to be at the final stages, with a possible opening in the second half of 2025, The Post added.

One source revealed to the media outlet:

"For the Sphere to continue to be on everyone’s radar they need to book some real “live” artists like Styles."

They added:

“Almost everything at the Sphere has been geared for the 60-and-over crowd — The Eagles and The Dead, and even U2.”

Though no financial details have been revealed, history says it will be a moneymaker. To put this into perspective, U2 allegedly made $170 million during their seven-month stint at The Sphere, with Live Nation assuring them $4 million per performance.

Added to the interest is Styles' managerial relationship. With Azoff handling artists like U2 and The Eagles (both having performed at The Sphere), this agreement looks like the next step.
