The internet can’t stop buzzing about the latest voice lines leaked from Marvel Rivals, particularly those featuring Ultron taking direct aim at Tony Stark.
“The MCU has forever ruined Ultron, I hate this,”
reads a tweet that sums up a debate many Marvel fans are reigniting.
While the cinematic version of Ultron had its moments, the character's portrayal has left some die-hard fans yearning for the fearsome, no-nonsense villain from the comics. Now, Marvel Rivals is delivering a version of Ultron that fans are calling both brutal and...weirdly insightful. These voice lines feature the character firing savage verbal shots at Stark, calling out his humanity as a weakness.
Fans are giddy with Ultron's snarling,
"Your FLESH is the flaw, Stark!"
in one of the most memorable lines.
Twitter's response has been quick, humorous, and somewhat divided, regardless of whether Ultron's brutal facts or the ultimate betrayal of the previous genius-hero relationship are the cause.
Marvel fans divided as Ultron’s new lines roast Tony Stark with brutal truths
It didn’t take long for Ultron’s new lines to spark a wave of reactions on social media. Some fans couldn’t help but laugh at how “accurate” Ultron’s jabs at Tony Stark feel, especially given Stark’s iconic ego and hubris. One fan captured the sentiment perfectly, tweeting,
“I told you, Stark, YOU ARE the flaw!”
alongside a GIF of Ultron looming menacingly. The lines highlight the deep-rooted animosity between the two characters, with Tony Stark’s imperfections as a human (and sometimes arrogant) being front and center in Ultron’s criticisms.
Others, however, were quick to offer a tongue-in-cheek rebuttal to the complaints. One user tweeted,
“Hank Pym not even in the game, you’ll be ight,”
dismissing the outrage as overblown.
Another fan kept things simple, stating,
“Then don’t consume,”
when people grumbled about Ultron’s depiction in Marvel Rivals. A third chimed in with a savage suggestion:
“holy shit go outside and lay in some grass,”
clearly urging fans to take a break from nitpicking over the minutiae of fictional characters.
The meme game was strong, too, with one user dropping a GIF of internet personality Trisha Paytas dressed like Ice Spice, captioned,
“what’s the issue?”
The exaggerated sarcasm, combined with some creative GIF use, encapsulated the social media reaction perfectly — a mix of amusement and mockery toward those taking Ultron’s latest evolution too seriously.
Ultron’s background and Marvel Rivals
The new voice lines are a part of the most recent season update, which adds fresh content and character interactions for people who are not familiar with Ultron's position in Marvel Rivals. Although Tony Stark alone built the AI enemy in the MCU, Ultron in the original comics was the brainchild of Hank Pym, the man who invented Ant-Man technology. However, Pym is currently not included in the Ultron narrative because Marvel Rivals has chosen to make Stark the main character.
Ultron's lines are about everything Stark professes to be, not only about his flaws. "You act like a machine," Ultron says, "But you are just organs in a metal shell," in one of his most terrifying voice lines to date. In contrast to the more flamboyant Stark, fans are applauding the return of a more cunning and brutal Ultron. It appears that Ultron's objective is rather clear: to demonstrate that mankind, particularly Tony Stark's version of it, is outdated and defective.
