The wait is officially over as Ubisoft has finally released Assassin's Creed Shadows. Fans have been pacing their rooms frantically, waiting for years for Ubisoft to release the latest iteration of the medieval masterpiece. The hype train shows no signs of slowing down as the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows sent social media into a meltdown.

Fans react hilariously as Ubisoft officially unveils Assassin's Creed Shadows

The franchise has an intense fan following, which makes even the most devoted fanatics look like casual observers. Ubisoft has treated the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows like it's a magic trick at a birthday party and has cleverly fueled this obsession with one delay after another. This resulted in fan speculation spiraling into chaos, but it was all worth it now that the game is here.

The excitement amongst the fans was palpable, with the release of the game sparking a flurry of memes and reactions, with fans worldwide rejoicing at the news. They were champing at their bits, as fans couldn't rein it in:

"Stealth mode activated!!!", declared one enthusiastic fan (via X / @kite_yagami)
"I'm staring at it, and it's staring me back. But I need to finish my workday first!", joked another fan (via X / @VascoSilva92)

The game itself is a glorious mix of stunning visuals and questionable historical accuracy. But thanks to its loyal fanbase, fans still flocked to purchase the game with fans particularly excited to share which aspect of the game gives them a kicker:

"Luring enemies toward cliffs and then just kicking them with the force of a bullet train always gets a bit laugh out of me", shared one fan (via X / @Cade_Onder)

Assassin's Creed Shadows has also had its fair share of controversies, with fans debating historical inaccuracies to absurd character choices. It even got to the point where the Japanese government had to chime in and say it wouldn't tolerate the destruction of religious shrines in the game. And all this before the game was even released. Phew!

Invariably, Ubisoft came in the line of fire as fans have trolled the studio makers mercilessly over the past couple of months. Even after all of the controversies the popular video game found itself in, fans still couldn't stay upset with Yasuke and company for much longer. The Assassin's Creed stans' devotion really knows no bounds and they instead blamed the players for the choices they made:

"This is a game where u make ur own decisions so u flirted with them to the point of them falling in love so u could post pretending ur mad about it. Bet you loved every minute of it too. Prolly started blushing as the romance picked up. Kicking ur feet as u press the flirt button", thundered one fan (via X / @zaydante)

But all was forgotten and swept under the rug as fans instead focused on the positives:

"Cant wait to play ac shadows because who actually cares about historical accuracy when you have magic", joked one fan (via X / @johnofterraria)
"Wow you'd think with that much attention to detail they could have done 5 minutes of research and not offended the entire nation of Japan, cool weather effects though bro", quipped another (via X / @manofstories)

Give the players some time, and once they get through all of the side quests, we can look forward to their reactions as the game takes them through all the emotions at once. They are going to either leap from their couches like a stealthy cat or we are going to see a lot of broken controllers in the coming days and weeks. Either way, it is going to be a chaotic experience!

Fans have been waiting patiently for the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows for the longest time. The agonizing wait is finally over and the next few weeks are going to be magical for the gaming community as fans have been planning their lives around the release date for months now. The number of people taking sick leaves is going to push through the moon now!

Only when the dust settles and the smoke bomb clears will we get to know more about the game when the reviews come out. Stay tuned with us for more updates on Assassin's Creed Shadows.
