The internet loves a good typo. One accidental keyboard slip, and suddenly, you've got a viral sensation on your hands. "I forgor 💀" – a simple misspelling of "I forgot," yet somehow, it has achieved legendary meme status.

That’s because the internet decided it should.

The accidental birth of "I Forgor"

On February 5, 2021, X user @ItsNotSeabass reached out to Walmart with a question. As the multinational retail corporation was ready to assist, instead of a follow-up query, @ItsNotSeabass said: "I forgor 💀."

That’s it. That’s the tweet. And yet, the internet took it and RAN.

Over 25,000 likes later, "I forgor 💀" became the tragic, misspelled confession of forgetfulness, punctuated by the dramatic skull emoji, and became a go-to response for people who couldn’t be bothered to remember things.

Whether trolling a conversation or just admitting defeat to brain fog, "I forgor 💀" was there for you.

Of course, this wasn’t just a one-off Twitter moment. The meme evolved.

By May 2021, Redditor u/smashi3 upped the game by posting an image: a mysterious figure sitting on a giant yellow question mark, the words "i forgor" slapped over it in Papyrus font.

The art of forgetting (and remembering)

If "I forgor 💀" is the internet's way of admitting forgetfulness with a side of irony, then "I rember 😃" is its cheerful, slightly unhinged counterpart.

It’s the digital equivalent of someone aggressively nodding and pretending they totally remember something they absolutely do not.

Paired together, these two phrases create the perfect comedy duo.

They’re used in reaction memes, online conversations, and, of course, in the fine art of dodging questions.

Don’t want to answer someone? Just hit them with an "I forgor 💀."

Need to act like you know something after all? "I rember 😃."

Skamtebord and the glorious misspelling movement

If "I forgor 💀" seems like pure chaos, it fits right in with an entire genre of meme culture known as "Skamtebord." These memes take intentional misspellings, throw in a dash of absurdity, and turn the internet into a playground for grammatical anarchy.

The humor comes from the fact that the mistake isn’t just tolerated—it’s fully embraced and celebrated.

And then ... memes

For instance, consider this meme. The cat is ready to utter something that begins with "but here's the." But it smacks us with "I forgor" right away.

You know when you're in the middle of a sentence and your mind just goes blank? Say "I forgor" and walk away.

Seriously, is there anything in the world that doesn't fit Ye's most well-known selfie? The expression "I forgor" will undoubtedly look like this.

If you fail to do your homework, say "I rember 😃" and get back to work maybe.
