If something is delayed for a few months, it's called waiting, but if it is delayed for more than a decade, it's called George R.R. Martin's writing schedule. The author, known for writing complex plots and taking an eternity to write them, has decided to give a little update on his magnum opus, The Winds of Winter.
George R.R. Martin has admitted that the book is taking so much time that it makes sloths look speedy. Martin is currently writing the sixth installment of his fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire, called The Winds of Winter. In a recent interview, he admitted that he needed to get back to writing the book and hopes to finish it soon. He said,
"I have to get back. I have to finish the books. That's one thing I'm completely in control of. There's no budget limitations. There's no other executives on the studio side that I have to please, or other writers with different views. The books are what I'm going to make them. And, I think the one that I'm writing is coming pretty well, but I wish it would come faster"

Fans of the series have themselves gone through several winters in anticipation of the book and are still hoping that it will come sooner. George R.R. Martin's update has given them hope that the book might just arrive before doomsday.
Martin's remarks garnered several hilarious reactions from his fans, and it looks like his novels have given his fans the ability to play with words. Here are some epic reactions that are too funny to miss.

Another user, @LUPASAN2, upped the laugh meter with this comment,

One more user, @_PiggyPie, chimed in with a funnier comment,
"He could have hand written this faster."
User @Demontics22 wrote a short but hilarious comment,
"Procrastinator final boss"
User @raregur decided to roast Rockstar Games in the process,

User @Zervingetorix trolled hard with this comment,
"bro writing a letter a day..."
George R.R. Martin's The Winds of Winter is expected to be over 1,500 pages long. That's enough pages to make anyone switch to audiobooks. Martin started writing the book in 2010, and now, in 2025, it's old enough to start high school and complain about how much it hates society.
Martin has finished writing 1,100 to 1,200 pages and is stuck with the last 400 to 500 pages. That's two novels for any normal author. Let's hope the novel finishes before winter ends, and he begins a new series called The Song of Pollens and Sneezes.
