FromSoftware has done it again. The legendary studio behind Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring has just announced its next game, The Duskbloods, set to release in 2026. And in true FromSoft fashion, it looks grim, brutal, and about as inviting as an abandoned Victorian asylum on a foggy night.

Fans were quick to react, flooding social media with their thoughts, and by "thoughts," we mean a mix of excitement, existential dread, and sheer disbelief. Because if there's one thing FromSoftware can always count on, it's its fanbase spiraling into an emotional crisis at the mere sight of a new trailer.

FromSoftware's 'The Duskbloods' Announcement Breaks the Internet

The moment The Duskbloods was revealed, fans wasted no time in making sure everyone knew exactly how they felt. The game, which boasts a dark gothic aesthetic and what appears to be the usual FromSoft level of "you will suffer" gameplay, immediately became a meme goldmine.

The first trailer gave us everything we expected: eerie landscapes, brooding characters, and an overwhelming sense of doom. It also gave fans the perfect opportunity to crack jokes about just how miserable (in the best way possible) this game looks.

One user summed it up perfectly:

"This looks gloomy…"

Which is basically FromSoftware’s entire brand identity at this point.

Naturally, the reactions didn’t stop there. Some players, still recovering from Elden Ring, weren’t emotionally prepared for another round of soul-crushing gameplay.

"Thanks, I’m traumatized already 😰,"

one fan lamented.

Others couldn’t help but poke fun at the game's atmosphere. FromSoft games have always been dripping in lore and have an aura so thick you could bottle it up and sell it as "Melancholy No. 5."

"Why is bro aura farming?!??👀"

Someone questioned, perfectly summing up the trailer’s dark and brooding visuals.

Then, there’s the exclusivity debate. While FromSoftware hasn’t confirmed full platform details yet, the mere thought of the game being locked to a single console sent some fans spiraling.

"Why make it exclusive 😭"

cried a desperate gamer, probably clutching their non-compatible console like it was a dying loved one.

And, of course, no major gaming announcement is complete without at least one conspiracy theory. Given the suspiciously well-timed nature of the announcement, some fans were skeptical.

"This has to be an April Fools that just got to use late."

Honestly? We wouldn’t put it past FromSoft to troll us like that.

At the end of the day, The Duskbloods is shaping up to be exactly what we expected: a brutally difficult, beautifully depressing masterpiece. Fans might joke about the inevitable suffering, but let’s be real: they’ll be first in line to experience every second of it.

So, while we all pretend to be terrified, let’s just admit it: we’re ready to embrace the pain once again. Bring it on, FromSoftware.
