"This just terminator with different plot"- Internet in shambles as the first trailer for ‘M3GAN 2.0’ gets released

The M3GAN 2.0 trailer is officially out and it's everything we feared yet desperately wanted. The trailer sets the stage two years after the original M3GAN chaos and the sequel seems to be cranking up the chaos dial to the eleven even as the movie seems to have taken a hard left turn from its predecessor's horror roots. Packed with killer robots, action-packed sequences, and hilarious one-liners, the movie is leaning toward uncharted territories and promises to be a laughter riot.

Fans react hilariously as Blumhouse releases M3GAN trailer

M3GAN 2.0 marks a drastic change in direction as the franchise has left horror in the dust by embracing a Sci-Fi Thriller/Action tone. In a moment that belongs to the internet hall of fame, we see M3GAN waking up in a purple doll, which is hilarious to see. The coming sequel promises to be a blast as we watch the formerly homicidal doll trying to come to terms with foreign concepts like empathy and friendship.

The movie's plot itself- Gemma rebuilding M3GAN to fight Amelia, a rogue AI spy-bot—sounds like a sci-fi fever dream, and fans are tearing it apart. Inevitably, there were Terminator references and as soon as the trailer dropped, fans began to swarm in like flies to roast the trailer into oblivion:

M3GAN’s quips like “Hold on to your vagi**s” and “I’ll make you a deal—you can kill Gemma, but don’t touch Cady”—are meant to bring comic relief, but fans roasted them like there was no tomorrow. Fans even trolled the filmmakers for breaking the mold instead of doubling down on the horror formula that worked so well the first time:

While the movie is certainly taking a bold u-turn from horror to action thriller, it could yet turn out to be a glorious masterpiece. Plus, the sheer randomness of it all ensures that the movie will stand out, even if it’s for all the wrong reasons. Not everybody is roasting the film though, as M3GAN stans rushed to defend the idea. They seemed willing to offer an olive branch to the movie, only to mix their compliments with a hint of sarcasm later on:

M3GAN 2.0 is scheduled to release in theatres on June 27, 2025, and while the horror of the original may have been swapped for an action-packed camp, it can still turn out to be an outlier and give us a comedy goldmine. While some fans are mourning the loss of chills, we're over here laughing at the sheer audacity of the move. Let's hope the movie doesn't disappoint us!
