Reportedly, the officer in question, former Deputy Tristan Macomber, has since stepped down from the line of duty. The investigation carried out by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Internal Affairs found that, at the time, he was watching something “not safe for work” moments before the crash.

Bodycam footage shows the moment the police officer slammed into the back of another car, forcing the airbags to deploy. He then tosses his phone to the side before apologizing to the person whose car he hit.
