Paramount Pictures' The Angry Birds Movie 3 will hit theatres on January 29, 2027! Co-produced by Rovio Entertainment and Sega, this animated comedy is set to delight one and all. Expect even more pig-beating, bird-throwing action as the hit video game franchise adds another chapter.

Behind the scenes, The Angry Birds Movie 3 is gathering a dream team of animation experts. John Rice is returning to the director's chair and fans couldn't have asked for better.

Meanwhile, Thurop Van Orman, the brain behind the sequel's wild ride, has returned to pen the script, so the guffaws (and fireballs) are in very experienced hands. Producers John Cohen, Dan Chuba, and Carla Connor are hedging their bets on this one to pull in the fans once again.

Cohen said:

"We’re very excited to be partnering with Paramount Pictures and extremely proud of our incredible cast. Not only do we have Jason, Josh, Rachel and Danny returning to voice their fantastic characters, but they’re surrounded by an all-star ensemble of comedic talent. These are some of the funniest people out there today, and we’re so thrilled to have them all on board."

As soon as the news came out, someone took to his X account and commented:

"them birds still mad after all these years???"

Social media is already abuzz, with fans hilariously wondering how the Angry Birds still hold onto that rage after all these years. Let’s be honest; if your eggs kept getting stolen by smug green pigs, you’d be mad too.

Their anger has endured over a decade, two films, an endless stream of memes, and now a third cinematic outing. This animated comedy is living proof that anger (and humor) gets better with age like premium birdseed.

Alex Pelletier-Normand, CEO, Rovio Entertainment said:

"The Angry Birds brand has demonstrated remarkable versatility, evolving from a global mobile gaming phenomenon to licensed products, animation, and a thriving cinematic franchise. It has been a deeply collaborative effort to create a film that will resonate with the millions who interact with our catalog of games and products every day."
"We are confident that with this talented team at the helm, The Angry Birds Movie 3 will delight longtime fans and create new fans in those discovering our flock for the first time."

The internet has officially gone into meltdown mode. From retro gamers to confused Gen Alpha kids who thought the birds were just TikTok filters, fans everywhere are memeing, clucking, and squawking like it's 2016 all over again.

Before we plunge into the pandemonium, hold on tight because the Angry Birds fanbase is louder, crazier, and somehow more furious than ever. Here's a glimpse at how the flock is responding.

Netizens react to 'Angry Birds 3' announcement

Of course, the internet didn't waste time turning the announcement into a comedy roast. Some folks went straight to the comments section with egg jokes sharper than a beak to the face:

"This gaming franchise is pretty dead though, right?," a user @reviewsdino2 hilariously commented.
"Oh snap. Don’t tell my kiddo lol. Jk," another user @vfam_meta hilariously commented.
"Who asked for this," a netizen @TTVauger96 sarcastically expressed.

A few people piped up, not because they were excited but just for the holy internet ritual of commenting for commenting's sake, adding in stray bird puns, pig roasts, and jokes that didn't make any sense whatsoever:

"it's crazy how far this game has come.. i can never get past 6 hops in this game," a user @elizabethkaiixo hilariously commented.
"Angry Birds 3 is coming? Those pigs better start building bunkers instead of those wobbly stick houses. We’ve seen how that ends, bacon buddies!," another user @Jacqueline12__ hilariously commented.
"This better be rated R. I need bird vengeance and no mercy," a netizen @jhoanaaxo sarcastically commented.

And, of course, the peanut gallery showed up in full force, armed with sarcasm, bird puns, and zero context:

"Please don’t make it like Minecraft and meme it so people scream in the cinema," a user @Marvel_Dan__ hilariously commented.
"Wow that is awesome and Angry birds never dies," another user @halsey_and19727 hilariously commented.
"Bru.... 2 Years we must wait mannn at least we going to see Final destination 6 and Squid Game before Summer lol," another netizen @Alexand52438561 sarcastically commented.
"I almost forgot Sega bought Rovio lmao," a netizen @caroArajo14 sarcastically wrote.

The flock is taking to the skies in style this time, and they're not flying solo. The Angry Birds Movie 3 brings more star power with a loaded voice cast.

While the original set of bird heroes are back to get some loose nest business, a fresh crop of talent is storming onto Bird Island with new voices, high energy, and likely a few dodgy life decisions.

The third Angry Birds film will see the return of the original flock: the hotheaded leader (Red), the speed freak (Chuck), the pyrotechnics expert (Bomb), and their swift, fearless second-in-command (Silver), once again voiced by the familiar tones of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Rachel Bloom, and Danny McBride.

Emma Myers joins the chaos with Keke Palmer and Tim Robinson for company.

They're not birding alone, either; Lily James, Marcello Hernandez, Walker Scobell, Sam Richardson, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, and James Austin Johnson are all pitching in.

And when you thought you'd heard it all, Psalm West rounds out the cast in what's quite possibly the most unexpected cameo in bird cartoon history.

With returning favorites, surprise newcomers, and even a West baby on the mic, The Angry Birds Movie 3 is shaping up to be the wildest animated feather fight of the decade.

Whether you're here for the nostalgia, the chaos, or just to see if Bomb accidentally explodes again, one thing's for sure: this flock isn't calming down anytime soon. See you in theaters in January 2027, and don’t forget to duck.
