A Minecraft movie has been having a great run at the theatres so far, already grossing nearly $350 million within just 5 days of its release.

Based on the hugely popular 2011 video game Minecraft, the film stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, and Sebastian Hansen as four misfits who get pulled through a portal into a blocky wonderland powered by imagination. The film has proven to be a treat for longtime fans of the game, who have been flocking to cinemas in large numbers.

However, it’s also been causing quite a bit of chaos in theatres, so much so that some cinemas have been forced to take action.

A Minecraft movie has sparked a viral internet trend where viewers have been seen clapping, shouting, throwing popcorn - or even chicken - during pivotal moments of the film, especially the scene featuring the Chicken Jockey, the tiny rare zombie riding a chicken from the game.

This rowdy behavior has led movie theaters across the world to post warnings for Minecraft movie screenings, stating that anything that may disturb other guests will not be tolerated, in an effort to prevent disruptions and ease the burden on staff who are left to clean up the mess after the movie.

Hilarious Internet Reactions

Netizens were quite amused to see movie theatres issue such warnings, and they quickly took to the internet to share their hilarious reactions.

"That looks lit af 😂😂😂," a user said.

What are the movie theatres and so many people getting angry about, as this user certainly finds all the screaming, shouting, and food-throwing in the movie theatres to be the most fun thing ever - possibly even elevating the viewing experience!

"Lock the doors and make them fight. Only one is allowed to leave. The rest become property of the movie theater," suggested another.

Quite the Squid Game-inspired solution to the problem - lock the doors to the theatre and make all the rowdy viewers fight. Only one is allowed to leave. The rest become property of the movie theater. Harsh!

All the viral trends of viewers causing havoc in theatres during A Minecraft Movie screenings sure have sparked quite the “WTF reaction” among people. Looks like many will just wait for the film to come out on digital.

"Brilliant marketing effort, but if anyone does this in a theater where I am watching a movie, hands will be thrown," a user wrote.

Uh-oh, if you see this person at the Minecraft movie screening, then do not try to create havoc as part of the new internet trend, because they will throw hands!

"Minecraft fans treating the theater like it’s Endercon," commented another.
"Make them clean it up," suggested one user.

As this user points out, Minecraft fans sure seem to be treating the theatre like EnderCon - the annual Minecraft event with food and game stalls, a DJ, and even a chicken machine. Go figure!

Who would’ve thought cinema halls would actually turn into a video game? With people doing the wildest things during A Minecraft Movie screenings, theatres have been forced to step in and take action. So, do you agree with their decision, or do you think they’re killing the fun and possibly hurting ticket sales?
