The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an epic fantasy RPG adventure. This action role-playing game has overpowered gamers since it was developed and released in 2011 by Bethesda Game Studios.

Set in the rugged and magical province of Skyrim, players step into the boots of the Dragonborn, a legendary hero with a unique power: Dragon shouts (yup, this means you get to scream like a dragon and throw enemies away).

The game has a really good narrative with an intense story, a huge open world, a lot of quests to complete, factions to join, and of course, many many characters to interact with. Also, one gets a lot of opportunities to wander around looking for a shelter, a cave or just skiing in the mountains.

Why has Skyrim become so popular?

From small forests to huge mountains, the potential of landscapes is nearly limitless, and no corner is left. It’s easy to get lost (in a good sense) in its cities, villages, and wilderness. And the best part? You can do anything you can imagine, from killing dragons to conjuring your own armor.

Different from other RPGs where you can have a role-model character path, Skyrim does not limit you in any way. Want to be a stealthy archer? Go for it. Prefer a spellcasting wizard? No problem. It lets you have a realistic form of character progression; the protagonist has to learn new skills on his own. It takes a different form and there are no mistakes when it comes to the Dragonborn.

Its modding community is another way through which Skyrim has been able to sustain its relevance for such a long time. New quests, changes in graphics, changes in gameplay, hairstyles… there is almost nothing that isn’t available as mods.

As with the mobile version, it has been released on platforms as varied as virtual reality and Nintendo Switch, and therefore it has reached different audiences at different times. Then, of course, we have the memes! They go well beyond the screen of a video game, and enthusiasts often meet in amusing discussions and comic videos mentioning Skyrim.

Here are some of the Skyrim memes you can’t miss:

"I used to be an adventurer like you…": Timeless internet meme describes the essence of heroes aging—sometimes we swap slaying dragons for the grocery run or the dishes.

"Fus Ro Dah!": The famous dragon shout that’s become quite popular to the extent that people use it to refer to instances of chaos, or just when they want someone to be blown across the room.

Skyrim Logic: Everything from horses climbing straight up vertical surfaces to NPCs just walking around in circles strangely, the game’s quirks became a meme due to its utter randomness and has given birth to many skits joking about the game and its silly idiocies.
