The Russo Brothers might have just poked the Scarlet Witch fandom with a very specific stick. Their latest movie, The Electric State, has a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment that has Wanda Maximoff fans absolutely losing it. And by "losing it," we mean collapsing into memes, theories, and the usual unhinged devotion to the one and only Mother™.

The scene in question? A robot casually reading Avengers West Coast Vol 1 #56, which, for the uninitiated, features Wanda on the cover with the words “The Witch is back!” written across it. A coincidence? Maybe. A deliberate tease? Fans sure think so. And, naturally, they took to the internet to express their emotions in the only way they know how: through chaos.

The Scarlet Witch Easter Egg that broke the internet

A simple post pointing out the Easter egg went viral almost instantly, sending Wanda stans into a frenzy. The caption itself was pretty harmless: “The Witch is back!” But the fandom? Oh, they did not take that lightly.

It didn’t take long before the phrase turned into a full-on battle cry. Within hours, Twitter (sorry, X) was flooded with theories, declarations of faith, and general mayhem. Because if there’s one thing Scarlet Witch fans do well, it’s overanalyzing and manifesting. Some are convinced this is Marvel’s way of hinting at Wanda’s return after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Others think it’s just a cute nod to the comics. Either way, the internet has spoken: She’s returning, and you can’t tell them otherwise.

Now, let’s talk about the memes. Because, wow. They were instant, relentless, and slightly concerning (in the best way possible).

People are throwing around “MOTHER IS COMING” like it’s an official press release.

Some have declared their eternal loyalty, offering everything from free therapy to life-long bald head massages for Kevin; Feige if he makes her return official. (Someone check on Feige. He might not be ready for this level of commitment.)

Then there’s the “Scarlet Witch Nation, wake up!” posts because apparently, everyone needs to be notified at once, no matter what timezone they’re in.

Sleep is for the weak when Wanda is involved. Others are already debating which version of her costume must make a comeback.

One particularly passionate post simply read: “Yeah, she’s coming back.” No context needed. Just pure, unshakable belief.

And of course, no Scarlet Witch meme frenzy is complete without a dramatic oh ?????? comment. Because sometimes, a cryptic reaction is the best reaction.

Will Wanda Maximoff return? Maybe. Is this Easter egg a confirmation? Probably not. But does it matter? Absolutely not. The Scarlet Witch fandom has once again proven that no hint, no matter how small, will go unnoticed. The "Witch is Back" Easter egg has sparked a frenzy, and Marvel can only watch as fans speculate and meme their way into a collective hope for Wanda’s return.

If nothing else, this moment shows just how powerful Wanda’s fanbase really is. The fandom doesn’t need confirmation to start manifesting, and it’s clear that no matter what Marvel has planned, Scarlet Witch stans are ready to rally for their queen. For now, we wait, but you can bet that the memes and the hope will continue to flood the internet.
