IShowSpeed may have entered the WWE ring for fun, but his body didn't receive the message. Looking back on his Royal Rumble moment, the YouTube personality admitted that after being spear-tackled by Bron Breakker, he thought his life was going to end.
Two weeks later, he revealed just how nasty the aftermath was - a vicious headache and a body that was so bruised up he could hardly move the day after. Some moments inside the ring are as real as they appear to be.
IShowSpeed said:
"The day after Bron Brekker speared me, I had probably one of the worst headaches," he told his viewers. "I couldn’t move. I thought I was genuinely about to die. Real talk. That was maybe one of the craziest, worst experiences ever. I’m being so serious right now," he added.
As soon as the news came out someone (@Bovada_Casino) took to his X account and commented:
"That spear was real"
The moment Speed posted about his post-Rumble ordeal, the internet hit overdrive. The fans argued if he downplayed the effect, made light of the fact that he technically earned his WWE stripes, and, naturally, made the entire thing a meme fest.
Netizens have reacted as IShowSpeed opens up about his injuries at the WWE Royal Rumble
A few fans made jokes, saying Speed learned the hard way that wrestling isn't all about show business. Memes poured in, comparing his response to someone who believed trampoline wrestling was the proper training. For most people, that spear was less a move and more of a reality check:
"Nah he thought he would've had it easy," a user commented.
"He actually hit him HARD haha. I was shocked," another user wrote.
"He found out the hard way that WWE isn’t just “scripted entertainment”!, a netizen expressed
Some people made the whole situation a meme-fest:
"The guy is athletic but he isn’t built for the WWE.," a folk commented.
"Speed is speed. Speed should be speeding. Run Speed!," a user wrote.
"Speed thought he was glitching out at the Rumble," another netizen commented.
Then came the skeptics - the ones who were convinced that WWE is all theatrics and that Speed deserved an Oscar instead of an ice pack:
"I feel it was faked. He wasn't injured," one user commented.
"People actually believing speed is crazy...," another user wrote.
About IShowSpeed's WWE’s Royal Rumble
On February 1, 2025, IShowSpeed and Kai Cenat brought their usual chaos to WWE’s Royal Rumble. No one expected Speed to transition from spectator to victim in record time. What started as a fun stream quickly became a wrestling crash course—emphasis on the crash.
When Speed entered the ring with Bron Breakker, he was brimming with confidence and excitement after being called in as a last-minute replacement for Akira Tozawa. That self-assurance lasted precisely one spear.
Speed was thrown onto the mat and tossed out of the ring as Breakker plowed through him like a rogue train. By the time it was all done, he had a neck brace, crutches, and a renewed respect for gravity.
