On Valentine’s Day, Drake and PartyNextDoor dropped a collaborative album. Titled Some Sexy Songs 4 U, the project hit streaming services on February 14, 2025, under OVO Sound, Santa Anna, and Republic Records.
The album wasted no time setting records, becoming the fastest album to hit #1 on Apple Music in the U.S. this year.
On the internet, it’s more about timing. Less than a week after Kendrick Lamar set Super Bowl LIX halftime show on fire with his Not Like Us performance, Drake dropped an album.
According to Billboard, as of February 14, 2025, Kendrick is still ahead in album sales and streaming—outpacing Drake by approximately 7% and 4% in the U.S., respectively.
That hasn’t stopped fans from roasting the entire situation. One X user posted a hilarious GIF stating:
"That was fast"
A user poked fun at Drake, stating:
"I forgot about Drake, I was too busy vibing to the GRAMMY Winning song"
A user went on to say:
"apple music listeners yall had ONE job ONE...."
A user mentioned:
"his worst album did that btw"
A user commented:
"Performed in the Super Bowl just to get dethroned 5 days later"
A user went on to joke:
"Kendrick really bullied Drake outta Hip Hop😂"
A user thinks:
"Only reason why because Drake glazers are streaming it in their sleep"
A user, roasting Drake and his album, explained:
"Drake lost one of the biggest rap beefs in hip-hop history by an absolute landslide and followed that up with an R&B album titled “Some Sexy Songs 4 U”…. he couldn’t even stay in the genre. let’s be serious for one second here, LMFAO"
The release of Some Sexy Songs 4 U
Some Sexy Songs 4 U was released on Valentine's Day. The back cover of the album bills it as “74 personal minutes by PartyNextDoor and Drake”.
The tracklist includes Crying In Chanel, CN Tower, $pider-Man $uperman, Gimme a Hug, Celibacy, and When He’s Gone.

Background of Some Sexy Songs 4 U
The album is a follow-up to PartyNextDoor’s PartyNextDoor 4 (2024) and Drake’s For All the Dogs (2023).
This project marks Drake's third collaborative album and PartyNextDoor's first. The album contains 21 songs.
Guest appearances include Pim, Chino Pacas, and Yebba. The production work on the record was handled by PartyNextDoor alongside his regular collaborators Noel Cadastre, Gordo as well as Jordan Ullman.
Since PartyNextDoor joined Drake's OVO Sound record label in 2013 the artists have maintained continuous collaboration work together.
Their first collaboration was Drake’s appearance on Over Here from Party’s mixtape, PartyNextDoor (2013). They have also contributed to each other’s songs as writers and producers.
Announcement and promotion of Some Sexy Songs 4 U
Drake announced the collaborative album on August 2, 2024, during PartyNextDoor's tour stop in Toronto.
He told the audience that he and PartyNextDoor had been working on a project for them. He added that the album would be ready when the weather gets chilly.
"On behalf of me and Party, we’ve been working on something for y’all. So, you get the summer over with, do what you need to do. I know all you girls are outside. When it gets a little chilly, PartyNextDoor and Drake album will be waiting right there for you."
On February 3, 2025, the album's title and release date were revealed, along with a snippet of the song Deeper.
On February 9, Drake shared a snippet of Crying in Chanel.
Drake shared a promotional skit starring Canadian comedic duo Jermaine and Trevaunn Richards.
The album cover, released on February 11, features Drake and PartyNextDoor in fur coats in front of Absolute World in Mississauga, Ontario.
On February 12, Drake shared a snippet of Somebody Loves Me and a photo of a screenplay titled $$$ 4 U, based on a novel by Drake’s father, Dennis Graham.
The 21-song tracklist, with a runtime of 74 minutes, was revealed on February 13.
Legal issues
The album's release was preceded by Drake's legal action against Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify.
Drake alleged that UMG and Spotify artificially inflated the streams of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track Not Like Us.
He withdrew the petition on January 14, 2025, and filed a defamation lawsuit against UMG.
The legal dispute confused the distributor for Some Sexy Songs 4 U, which was eventually released through OVO, Santa Anna, and Republic.
